I'm not sure "most" is appropriate..."most" people do not probably use a voice activated feature for Now.

Having never seen anyone use that feature, my opinion would be that "most" people access Now via a non-voice activated Android phone or through an iPhone...or simply do not use voice activation for fear of battery drain or not being acceptable behavior in public.
I would disagree with you on that. I think if given a choice of using a voice activated options or a touch activated process. Most will use the voice activated process. It is easier to use. Why would they not choose this process? I have it on my Note 4 and it works great.

As another poster up this thread pointed out - Cortana will also be voice activated with the Lumia Denim update currently rolling out in Europe and soon the US...

Agreed..... There is an update coming to make Cortana voice activated like Google Now.

Well, that's why I stated it as my opinion. Having NEVER seen anyone use that feature and having seen TONS of people access "assistants" via touch (or even type for Cortana which is nice in certain situations) is my only evidence.

I'm sure there is some unofficial poll or data out there that might support either of our arguments. I'm on vacation and too lazy to look. ;)

Except with Google Now on most new devices it is voice activated. So you don't have to touch the phone. This is especially true on most Moto phones.

Is it? On my Nexus 5, "ok Google" would work even with the screen off. With my Moto X I need to wake it first. The total hands-free Google Now no longer works for me.

I forgot about the Nexus phones. DOH! It works for me pretty consistently but not from a deep sleep.
