Why do Tim Cook fans always bring up inflation to justify price increases but ignore deflation, technological innovation and moores law.
Innovation and moores law don’t say that prices have to be constant. Did u check the BOMs for iPhones lately?

Were carriers discounting the SE? Are the discounting the 15 or 16?
T-Mobile already has a deal on the iPhone 16e. It's not enough for me, but it's a deal for something like US$7.00 off each month for 24 months and a trade-in for the 2022 iPhone SE is worth US$250.

You are speaking about a 17 years period. Everything got more expensive in that time. Or from a different perspective money lost value.
In mayor cities apartments cost now 3 times more. Cars doubled, food as well. Especially since Covid.

Well yes and no. In general everything went up, but 15 years ago I could buy a good MBP (for my needs) for €2000, and these days I can also get very good MBP/MBA for the same price.

You guys think the price is bad? It's $757 USD in the UK!

Even with highest sales tax state in the US it’s still $100 more.

You can thank your country's very high VAT for that. I hope you and/or your fellow citizens get decent benefits from it.

The Apple pre-VAT price in the UK is fairly in-line with the pre-sales tax U.S. price, around $629 USD in the UK versus $599 USD in the U.S.

Sort of.

When comparing comparable display and storage size:

“Regular” size
16e starts at $599 with 128GB
16 starts at $829 with 128GB ($230 difference)
16 Pro starts at $999 with 128GB ($170 difference)

“Plus/Max” size
16 Plus starts at $929 with 128GB but to match Pro Max would be $1,029 with 256GB
16 Pro Max starts at $1,199 with 256GB ($170 difference with same storage)

Just going up the line (ignoring sizes):

16e starts at $599
16 starts at $829 ($230 difference)
16 Plus starts at $929 ($100 difference)
16 Pro starts at $999 ($70 difference)
16 Pro Max starts at $1,199 ($200 difference)
I forgot Apple’s slimy deal with carriers to charge $30 more if you don’t connect the phone with a major carrier and pay them an activation fee. I’m a little surprised they didn’t make the same deal with the 16e.

I never understood why the "$30 connectivity discount" only applies to certain iPhones. Right now, it's on the 15, 15 Plus, 16, and 16 Plus but not the 16e, 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max. For whatever reason, it's been the middle range phones that get the discount but not the lower (SE, 16e) or upper (Pro, Pro Max) range phones.

It’s not really a discount but more of an up charge. I know that’s the marketing thing just like some insurance companies say they give you a “safe driver” discount instead of saying they raise your rates for getting into an accident 😂
