As long as Apple selling slabs alongside foldables, I see no reason to buy one.
I don't see why they can't co-exist. It's not like Samsung stopped making tablets and they are 5 years into foldables at his point.

I own both an iPhone Pro Max and a 12.9" iPad Pro. I hardly ever use the iPad but I'm always using my iPhone. For someone life me, I'd much rather pull my iPhone out of my pocket and unfold it to have a larger iPad like screen without having to grab a different device to do that.

We are all different. It's just that for me, things are right next to me. I'd rather reach for what I think is the best tool for the job. So a foldable doesn't fit into that for me. It'll work, it's just not what I want to use.

For the record…my wife is interested in foldables and she has long used cases on her phones. And I require a case on my daughter's phone because she is careless (not clumsy, careless).

I just see foldables along the same lines as wanting the headphone jack or Touch ID back. I don't see it happening. But there is almost a fervor to will it in to existence in some - which I just don't get.

I can be wrong, we will see.

I use them both as well, and since May of this year when I purchased both a Mini 6 and 12.9 iPad Pro, I use my Mini 6 80% as my daily driver. I only use my iPhone when I’m at work, since I drive with my job and when I’m stationary, I use the Mini 6 during my break. I don’t mind if Apple releases a foldable, that‘s great for those who want to use them, I just hope Apple release a new slab iPhone alongside it.

Precisely. They will co-exist, just like with every other company that has released them. This idea that Apple would decide to convert all their phones to foldable is just silly. We're likely still many years away (if ever) from foldables being seen as anything more than a niche product, & this is coming from someone who currently uses one.

Oh they will definitely co-exist, the slab phones have reached the perfection of their form factor so people will continue to buy them as they drop in price (due to its obsolete design), but the foldable form will be the flagship product and continue to evolve itself.

Would I like to see a foldable iPhone…. Yes
Will it happen this year….. definately not.

The technology isn’t where Apple would consider it to be “acceptable” yet. Maybe in a few years.

I was looking at the Wonderlust Event logo and suddenly it dawned on me that it looks like it is folding. Could Apple be hinting at a foldable device?

Maybe it could be a folding iPhone or iPad? Maybe it could be a completely new category of devices called iFold and/or iFlip. Could the iPhone Ultra be a flip or folding style phone?

Maybe the logo is hinting more towards the new periscope camera?

What are your thoughts?
With all the **** that leaks this would be extremely hard to hide unless it's a one-off prototype that hasn't made it to the production lines.

I know folding phones aren't appealing to everyone but Honor Magic v2 has been getting a lot of buzz recently. When folded, it is about as thick and a tad bit lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Despite being thinner than the Fold 5, it also has a higher capacity battery due to it using some new battery tech. I could honestly see Apple doing a folding phone like that one. The crease seems to be a non issue to most owners of folding phones.
I just went and looked it up. WOW!

No. That is all.

I think apple view foldable tablet phones as a hybrid product. And they have been very open in dismissing hybrid products, for instance they don’t do convertible laptops, because they say they are compromised. So their argument is a foldable iPhone makes the iPhone less of a phone, and the tablet form less than an iPad.
There is a market that will accept these compromises though. But I doubt Apple will want to do one until there’s less compromises.
They may do a flip type phone though, however i don’t see why those even exist, apart from some women who love to have a tiny folded phone in their bag

Anyone know—does there exist an accurate comprehensive record of each logo from each Apple event over the years and what the logo turned out to hint at (if anything)?
