Which is a terrible thing when you have a dual-SIM phone.

WhatsApp and iMessage are not sms they use data like wifi etc.you don't need a sim just your phone number.

I'm done with this.enjoy your bbm messaging

It uses the SIM associated with the phone number on a dual-SIM phone.

what's app is not sms it uses data so as long as u have data on your sim you are all set.i don't get what you talking about.its like saying Facebook messenger or iMessage won't work with out sim cards.just because it's using your number doesn't mean it's using sms .

think of it like your bbm pin is the same as your regular phone number.

I did not talk about SMS.

I did not say it would not work without a SIM card.

Why does it matter what someone else uses?

You can be forced to use a proprietary system by your social or business peers.
That's not how that works. That's what they might be using, but it's up to you to use it or not or use something else. That applies to pretty much everything else too. If some of your friends are only using Facebook Messneger to talk it's up to you to use that to communicate with them using that or to use some other means to do it. If someone just uses email and nothing else then there's not much you can do if you want to talk to them but use email or some other means that they would be fine with, like phone calls or something like that.

In the end everyone's situation is their situation and up to them to figure out what works for them and the people they want or need to be in touch with.

It is exactly how it works. Since Microsoft Office was invented.

Those people are appalling, if they are serious. The green bubbles ARE annoying in appearance because the white text doesn't contrast very pleasantly with the bright green background but jeez, some of those tweets were more annoying than any green bubbles I've ever seen.

Between people rejecting friends and lovers over differences in faith, politics, dietary choices and now green vs blue text bubbles, it's a wonder anyone can find a spouse anymore.

I have seen that my daughter and her friends use iMessage for group chats. There are two girls who don't have any iOS devices (or any other devices) to chat on so they simply fill them in on what was discussed when they meet up in person. Nobody is shunned, but I guess those without iMessage miss out on the immediacy of the chatting and all the great emojis.

Did you quote the correct post? I have no idea what you are referencing....

He's getting a BlackBerry, not joining the Mathletes.

These days even mathletes make fun of blackberry users. Like, if they're having a calculation throwdown and some BB kid asks if he can join, the mathletes are like "ew, dude, no...get out of here with your bbm'ing and physical keyboard"

At least every BB10 phone released can be upgraded to the latest version.
