Down on Copperline...
Wait, it's not Monroe? Or Madison? Maybe it's McKinley!

Anyway, I wouldn't put to much stock in Amazon's stock. I bought a MBP in late August that was manufactured in late March. It's no wonder that they have short ship times when they can have stock laying around for five months.

Came with all the regular problems of the early MBPs. I hope someone else enjoys it 'cause I sent it back.

How would you even know that? They don't coordinate thier software updates with anything?! Do you realize how ridiclous that sounds?

Obviously he didn't realize that this last 10.4.8 updated coordinated with Aperture 1.5. ;)

About time someone got pissed off. These people just need to buy a portable now and deal with being obsolete when it happens.

I for one don't mind these MBP C2D threads. Whats up with people getting so pissed and worked up about other peoples enthusiasm about it? And don't give me this "search the forums crap!" Nobody wants to read old news. Its so downright rude and pathetic that people who obviously don't like talk of rumors about speculative product releases can go into that thread just to hurl abuse at the OP. Click elsewhere, get on with your lives and stop trolling!!

Back on topic, yes I am excited and anticipating the release of the MPB C2D with a more powerful Nvidia card...and I'm also hoping for a possible release next week too...yes I'm speculating.

Perhaps said people will be able to deal with it better if Apple actually provides a choice as to what processor you want. When everyone pays the same price for the same 2 processor configurations it is a total no brainer that people expect to get a good bang for their buck.

If Apple offers a choice of processor options (ie: you can order a 1.66 MBP for cheaper if your heart so desires) I am sure people will not give two hoots about C2D.

well said :)

I'm all for those who waited for the better one.

Waiting for a better unit is fine. I'm for it. I'm not for starting another thread about the C2D just because he/she thinks this one is unique. There are so many at MacRumours that this question really could have been raised in an existing "We're waiting for Merom" thread.

And the only real sign that Merom is coming soon is that there have been several places selling MBPs on sale. Yes, Apple products on sale. The apocolypse is coming!! Well, it's either that, or Merom. We'll hopefully see soon.

But I just don't post or check the new Merom threads that pop up (I make rare exceptions like in this case, of course ;) ), which is what I suggest others do if they don't like it. ;)

This sort of behaviour is part and parcel of being a mac user. Until Apple changes their marketing practices (unlikely) I suggest you don't click on "yet another MBP thread" lest you get your briefs in a wad.
