Could this mean a possible macbook upgrade on the 12th?

We're hearing a lot from people who've ordered macbooks and are experiencing delays (most probably to the back-to-school rush), but what about those who've ordered macbook pros? The apple site still reports a 24 hour ship time, but are any who've ordered the MBP recently experience any delays similar to those who've ordered macbooks? If not, I would definitely say it has to do with back-to-school delays, and nothing to do with merom MB's imminent release.

hard to believe, but it really is true

not everyone ordering macbook in the past week knows about merom

As I said above, multiple people on Slashdot reported ordering a MacBook Pro in the last 7 days, and all were initially told a 24 hour ship time, and all were then changed to September 13th.
 
Maybe if we are lucky then apple ran out of the yonah based boards repairing MB's with RSD and will replace new ones with merom based boards :D

i do too but i think anyone who is here on macrumors in the first place is probably already aware of a merom mbp being released and is continuing to wait like you and i.

hope they are released next week...

mine was expected to ship on the 15th, but shipped today (the 8th) so yours might ship early too
 
Well, Tuesday, I'm ordering something from Apple... I'm hoping it will be a re-designed MBP, if it isn't, I don't know if if I'll get a Pro or not...

I know, I know , it's probably nothing at all, but something interesting to wish for! Hopefully the macbook will at least see a spec bump on the 12th and i'll get a little upgrade:D

Keep in mind, 5-7 days on their website means it'll take 5-7 days to leave their warehouse/manufacturing facility. Then from there on, the time it takes to get to your house depends on where you live. ;)

Anyways, I really hope something new comes up for the MB. I've been dying to Switch ever since my school started but I've heard many rumors this week about upcoming updates (and no I don't support the adage of 'buy it if you need it', I expect $2K worth of hardware to live as long as possible :p ) or weary news of delaying product launchs and also many problems regarding battery recalls, MBs running excessively hot, the popular RSS, and MacBook laptops getting torched due to the heat (I just found out about that today, see here: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/laptops/macbook-joins-the-club-of-igniting-laptops-199368.php).
 
I think Apple is not shipping macbooks at this time because there may be a update. I am assuming this because for the most part MOST if not ALL apple stores have macbooks in stock and for sale. Maybe the distributor sent all of the old macbooks out to the stores and internet orders are being delayed because of updates?? I dont know..:confused:

definitly something is going on.. keep your eyes out next week, that's what i'm gonna do!
 
I dont think that there is a good enough reason to be shipping the new macbooks/mbp until the larger FSB merom is made available once that comes the you will see an all 64 bit lineup called "Made for Leapord" or something like that...
