Some of the images cannot be downloaded unless you use a workaround (which you shouldn't do).
Just the fact that we're having this discussion is evidence of how big of a problem this is. Most people are of good will. The ease of access that the internet (or any electronic medium) gives makes the impact of the bad actors that much more significant. I had someone try to appropriate one of my posted images. No one ever tried to take my slides.

We’ve had this conversation on other threads. But just because something can be downloaded without jumping through hoops doesn’t mean it’s legal or right to do so.
On Flickr, I believe you have to explicitly state permission if you're okay with one of your images being downloaded.

We will have to wait and see what actually happens.

True that. It will likely become even less relevant but as stated above YMMV, in case you are dead set on using their stuff. Most aren’t.
Like anything Yahoo for most people I met.

As is the case with anything. My very subjective observation has been that once a digital platform such as this, browsers, etc fall far behind it is almost impossible for them to regain any traction. Hangouts has the additional challenge right now of Teams coming into use.
None of this, however, would change the concerns about putting up my images on any of those platforms.

If the Wikipedia article is correct, DuckDuckGo compiles its results from "Yahoo! Search BOSS, Wolfram Alpha, Bing, Yandex, its own web crawler (the DuckDuckBot) and others"

I use DuckDuckGo and like it a lot. About once a month it doesn't find what I'd like it to find so I try the others including Google. Sometimes that gives me some added information, sometimes not...
