Take it to a Genius Bar and be super friendly and polite. I had my MacBook screen crack and it was out of warranty. They told me they were going to have to charge me and I was nice about it. The guy then came out of the back and said they would do it for free. Was super nice of them and I don’t know why they did it. A year later when I cracked it again, I had to pay. The adapter cord keeps getting between the screen and keyboard which cracked it twice, so I am super careful now.

You are confused. That is not the OP.

That was me (not the OP) who gave the story about dropping my IPP during dialysis. Since it works perfectly, I just gotta accept it and move on. I did move a laser printer back about 6 inches to give more room for the IPP.

I did find a local place that would replace the front glass for $649, but nah.

It is though, quite invaluable; I track weight, blood pressure, dialysis test solution strengths and food eaten - and always bring it with me when I go to the hospital for efficiency assessment. If the nurse have any suggestions, I just hand them the iPad, pencil and they can write instructions as detailed as they want. and they know I’m not going to lose or forget. As I said in another thread, priceless.

When I get a new IPP (2020?), yeah I’ll probably buy AppleCare. No more leather covers though; cats love to scratch the %^^%# out of them.
