I am seeing reproducible frequent, kernel panics after wake-from-sleep on macOS 10.15.1 and also after upgrading to 10.15.2

IOAHCIBlockStorageDriver::CommandTimeout!

See attached Kernel_2019-12-17-100020_ss-eng-esutton.panic

Repeatable Steps to Reproduce
1) Power-up and let computer sleep
2) Wake computer, enter password, see spinning beach ball
3) Kernel panic crash

- Tried PRAM reset
- Using a dual-monitor display.
- MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) MacBookPro10,1
- Using upgraded 2 TB OWC SSD upgrade ( 1.92TB / 1.3 TB free)

Mine continues to be okay since turning off all Eco settings. I don't want this to be my long term solution though.

What Energy Saver settings worked for you?

Did you have to change computer sleep and display sleep to never?

I am trying unchecking:
- [] "Put hard disks to sleep when possible"
- [] "Wake for network"
- [] "Enable Power Nap"

I'd suspect there's something wrong with your SSD upgrade. Have you checked with OWC to see if there might be a firmware update or some other known issue?

I too have an internal 2TB OWC SSD which replaced the spinning platter in my iMac.

I just prevent it from going to sleep, ever...

OWC says it's an Apple problem and that they have no documented evidence of any issues with their SSDs and Catalina. LOL.

My Mac (2014 5K iMac, well-specced, all SSD storage) is really acting up since updating to 10.15.1. Tough to say exactly what's happening, but whenever my screen goes dark (I guess the Mac is going to sleep) I have trouble Waking it. Keyboard taps, trackpad taps, etc. don't have any effect. Sometimes the next thing I'll see is a multi-language error message saying something like 'your Mac restarted because of an issue, press any key to continue to start up or wait a few moments' or some such.

Every maybe 1 of 5 times the Mac will wake, or continue to boot up (a pain as I have all sorts of multiple desktop spaces with apps and documents in each kept open at all times, so I have to set that stuff up each time).

Some times I have to hold down the power button to break the cycle. And some times I've even had to resort to physically unplugging it.

I just ran disk utility and it says everything is fine. But obviously something's not right.

Anyone else?

For now I've set the Eco preferences to just leave everything on all the time, screen included.

did you ever share the kernel panic contents? seems like there are several different issues with catalina. I've seen the watchdog timeout, and the IOAHCIBlockStorageDriver thing. Which one is the one you are running into?
