The xbox has a ATI xenos GPU witch is a ATI x1900xt gpu made for xbox.

The 6750m is faster faster than the desktop x1900xt by far.

So the Macbook Pro should be better.

Comparing console hardware to pc hardware does not tell you anything because a console is optimized to play games and the games are finely tuned to have maximized performance on that particular console hardware.

Nice....

8-Bits, why so many?

I use my XBox 360 for Joust and Robotron...

Just downloaded Atari Greatest Hits on my old iPhone... ;)

Heh, I just downloaded it too. What would amaze me is if Apple released an official Apple ][ emulator complete with a handful of games. Had a //c when I was in high school and loved that bugger.

As for Robotron, I do have it for my Xbox 360. :) My recent XBLA favorite was the R-Type remake. Still challenging but all of the old tricks still work. Now my only wish is that Atari would bring a Jaguar faithful re-release of Tempest 2000 on the Mac or the iOS platform. I loved that game.

Your system will run Crysis 2 fine ... but only as a 'real' PC, i.e. via bootcamp. Running via multiple layers on top of OS X will never work even 100th as well ... if at all.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_6 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E200 Safari/6533.18.5)

So I'm still going to have to run boot camp? Is there any way to get windows 7 without having to go and buy a win 7 disk? Thanks for the quick reply!!!

So does this mean that I still have to run bootcamp??? Is there an easy way of getting windows 7 onto my Mac without having to buy a win 7 disk? This is my first Mac.

No there isn't an easier way to game on OSX unless you buy an OSX specific port. If you want to game with high end texture munching games, and want the best performance, you need a Windows disc and bootcamp. Running in a virtual machine will .. well I hope you like slideshows.

With that said, some OSX specific ports are fine. But some just have a cheezy wrapper installed over the game to make it run. You'll get the best performance from gaming in Windows right now.

That is very easy - you need a real Win7 install disk, and just start 'Bootcamp Assistant' under Utilities and it will guide you through.

I have a gaming rig PC with crossfire 5870's and it runs pretty smooth on extreme settings. To even THINK of running that game on a MBP is laughable, go with the Xbox

speak from experience. Youtube is not experience, but you should be able to play the game. People can actually run it at max settings (minus AA and SSAO) at HD resolutions, without overclock.

Since I KNOW you're not enough of a complete moron to be talking about pirating, here you go:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/shop/download-windows-7

Though I would hit up Amazon or Buy.com or NewEgg for a better price.

Crysis 2 and Digital signature problems

OK. I hear all of these people talking about playing Crysis 2 on a new Macbook pro with Windows 7. But, I've had no luck, because windows 7 required ATI to have a digital signature before it will allow the driver update necessary to play Crysis.

There are posts about this all over the internet, but I haven't been successful with getting it to work. Has anyone. with a 2011 Macbook pro, with an ATI 6750 video card, had any luck. Oh! I'm also running the 64 bit version of windows 7. The 32 bit version doesn't take full advantage of the 8 gigs of ram that I have.

Thanks
