The problem with that is I listen to a lot of progressive rock bands from foreign countries so Siri frequently won't get it right: "Hey Siri, play Ifrån Klarhet Till Klarhet by Änglagård". Not only can't Siri get it right I can't even pronounce it correctly!
This is the same problem for me.
Main system language is English but I listen to a lot of songs from Japanese. Then Siri is out, that simple.

I don't like what they've been doing with iTunes in 12.x and even 11.x (I liked Cover Flow for the movie listing). But even so, it's still a hell of a lot easier to use on a Mac than this Music App is on iOS. The previous App was GREAT. This one (like all of iOS 7+) puts FLAT and CLUTTER over function. The white color background is BLINDING as well. At least El Capitan has a Dark Mode (I actually like El Capitan in Dark Mode except for the horrid flat stoplight buttons; Steam still uses the old ones and it looks so much cooler that way in a dark listing). But iOS is a mess now, IMO. Most Apps it doesn't matter since they define their own look, but Apple's stuff has definitely gone to hell. I could NEVER get Apple to add a LYRICS view to their AppleTV "Remote" App either (the one thing I always liked about the iOS music player). Why can't I view the lyrics on a TV? Hell it's a perfect place to offer Karaoke support for that matter. No, not Apple. They can't see past Mr. Ive's myopic, Flat World view.

You guys know that Siri exists right? I barely touch the app because I just tell Siri what album to play.

That's exactly why this sucks for me so much.

I'm really displeased with the new music app and even though there are several 3rd party apps that are better for me, not one of them will start playing music from my verbal commands.

1st ... i am not gonna talk to siri in public, thats just weird
2nd ... Siri cant handle english bands or song titles when its set to a different language so it becomes useless all together. e. g. Taylor Swift becomes Tater Schief (which in itself isnt even a word in my language)

And in many languages Siri doesn't work at all...

My only gripe is needing to filter to show songs I've downloaded rather than having an easy visual cue. Another is if I hear a song I really like there's no obvious way to tap straight to the artist page. Just their bios. I can't even find a menu option within the song.

it's one of the worst designed ios apps i've ever used for sure.

but apple lost it when it comes to ui design in software in the past few years anyway.
i didn't think apple would change a lot with steve jobs death but it's very clear that apple isn't the same anymore.

Me too. If it's not swedish progrock for me it's Japanese prog and fusion and anime music. My Japanese pronunciation isn't the greatest either so asking Siri to play "Kaiten (Ningen Gyorai)" by Happy Family is probably not going to work.

That reminds me of any time I try to get Siri to play Hare Hare Yukai. It rarely does. -_-

I don't know what Tim is doing but Apple is falling hard. Their phones freeze now, the UI's are cluttered and everything "simple" and "just works" about iPhone isn't so simple and just working anymore. #BringBackOldApple

Sounds like its time for Android

Upgraded to 9.2 and as has happened in the past, a playlist whose content was all saved offline is now mysteriously missing the majority of the songs. This is getting old Apple

I still prefer the iOS music app over the Google Music app on my Android phones. I do agree that the iOS music app needs some work especially with the way the artist listing is on my iPad.

I do use my 160GB iPod Classic in my car. It's easy to use and only has one purpose and does it well.

I agree. Sometimes I wish we can go back to the Steve Jobs and iOS 6 era. Where things LITERALLY just work.

Navigating the current music app is such a convoluted process, and so many Apple music, radio stuff I can't get rid of.
