iPad Air Current shipping time for iPad Air 2020 from Apple?

surprised to not find an active order thread here but maybe all of the early adopters and diehards have gotten theirs

i ordered mine on Dec 3 for teaching (EDU store) and was told delivery Dec 15-18. i was a little surprised at that estimate but it seems Apple doesn't have the stock that some of the retailers have (it appears to be in stock at other places). it's still stuck in processing even though the Apple Pencil 2 i ordered at the same time has already arrived.

anyway, i was curious if any recent purchasers can give an estimate if whether this time frame i have been given is correct? this is actually for work, but i was hoping to get it set up for teaching in January before the holidays set in (hoping to take some time off and not think about work), so i am hoping it will come on the early side of that estimate, but the lack of movement on my Order Status page has me a bit concerned.

haha...if you look at the thread in the M1 forum, people would suggest otherwise. lots of people have missed their delivery estimates, so i guess my wife was one of the lucky ones

I ordered a silver 64GB Wi-Fi on 11/27 with an expected delivery of 12/09-12/14. As of Monday, it hadn’t moved, and my local Apple store had some in stock, so I cancelled and placed a pickup order.

I ordered mine on 18 November, and initially received a delivery estimate of 3-10 December, but ended up receiving it on 26 November. So you never know!

Very happy with my iPad Air 4 - I know people on this forum have been talking about display issues but honestly I haven't spotted anything concerning. I guess some people will always look for problems!

Yeah mine had a 3 week window and they hit it spot on. I guess these things are really popular, and after using mine for a week I can see why. It's basically an iPad Pro for 200 dollars off.

good to hear. i myself am coming from an Air 2 which is still holding up well after all of these years. work bought me the Air 4 so i could use a Pencil 2 for teaching. My wife has an Air 3 which has impressed me, but i'm looking forward to this larger screen and smaller-bezel design. i assume i'll get used the power switch touch ID. (totally off topic: during this pandemic, i have missed Touch ID mightily on my Face ID equipped phone since i'm wearing a mask while i'm out and about)

what color/capacity? that's surprising given i still see 7-10 business days on the website. did you purchase yours from the Apple store (apple.com) or some other place?

I have two iPad Airs on order as Xmas gifts. Both have the same specs...256GB WiFi Space Gray and I placed the order on two different days. I am starting to get a little worried about them being delivered on time. Air #1 is in the middle of it’s delivery window and hasn’t even shipped, yet. Does anyone know if these units are being shipped direct from China or are they being processed through some Apple warehouse in the US? I am in the US by the way.

Ordered iPad Air Wi-Fi 64GB Space Gray on 11/30 with the estimated delivery 12/10-12/15. It finally shipped from Lebanon, TN via FedEx on 12/13 and will arrive on 12/15 (to East Coast). I guess we have to chill out if it's still within the window.

I do notice that from my FedEx account, there are two shipments got cancelled by Apple, one was on 12/10 and the other was on 12/12. Maybe backlog due to shipping cap?

thanks for this information. it's good to see things are consistent. i'm assuming i'll see a status change tomorrow and and hopefully we will all get our Airs within the original specified time frames.
