This replaces the original customize app to make it work on ur ipod now

PLEASE READ ALL STEPS CAREFULLY IN ORDER TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL WORKING CUSTOMIZE APP

WORKS WITH 1.1.1 AND 1.1.2 Jailbroken

:)this allows u to drag ur icons around in any order you want in the customize app:)

make sure u already have the original customize app (from installer)
*and that u change ur N45AP.plist with iorder or something*

How to replace N45AP.plist with your original one
(if you already did this skip to BASIC STEPS)

1. Get iorder from this site: http://iorderapp.googlepages.com/download
2. Install it and make icon order
3. Save the n45ap.plist somewhere u can find (i used desktop)
4. STFP into ur ipod (i used winscp)
5. clik and drag ur NEW n45ap.plist (from ur desktop or wherever u saved it) into this
path: System/library/CoreServices/Sprinboard.app
6. It should ask you if you want to replace the existing one..clik yes
7. Now on to the basic steps...


Basic Steps

1. Connect Ipod
2. Open a client (i used winscp)
3. find the Applications folder
4. Go into your Apps folder
5. Download the NEW customize app (if u havent already)
6. find it and unzip it
7. drag the new customize app FOLDER (not ZIP) into your applicatoins folder
8. Say yes to all when it asks you if you want to replace ur original one
9. Exit winscp
10. Reboot your ipod
11. YOU"RE DONE :)

WARNING: ONCE YOU GET THIS VERSION OF CUSTOMIZE DON'T UPDATE IT FROM INSTALLER (ITS MESSES UP UR TOUCH) ITS FIXABLE BUT IT TAKES A WHILE!


Differences:
The differences from the customize from installer app is:
1. You can change number of icons on docks
2. Works
3. More ppl have successfully make it work

this one actually allows u to drag the icons around and reorder ur icons
and u dont need to tapp the chicken u just had to open customize like 4 to 5 times and it will work
tapping the chicken was a joke lol
 
F*cking hell I've downloaded the version mentioned in the 1st post here..
Fixed permissions to 755..
App still crashes..
I've taken 30 minutes of my live tapping the damn app..
tapped the damn cow which pops-up..
still no working stuff..

more ideas ?

u didnt need to change any permissions
u just had to replace this one with ur original customize app from installer
 
try uninstalling customize then reinstall customize from installer then replace it with the one's from the links

also try to get ur first customize runnin (one from installer) u gotta open customize like 4-5 times to get it to work just keep re opening it wen it crashes on u untill it works. wen it works replace it
 
One problem: the iPod Touch version doesn't boot up...
Mmmm weird stuff..
I've just replaced the contents of Customize.app with that other file's content..

It crashes when I replace the Customize file without extention, the core of the app...
 
hmm then i dont know wats wrong
mine was simple i used winscp and draged the new customize app into the application folder and said yes to replace it
 
these are the exact steps i did
connect ipod
log into winscp (or any other client)
go into application folder find customize
download the new customize folder and unzip the folder
then drag the customize folder (the folder inside the zip folder)into the application folder
say yes to all to replace ur old one
and thats it
it works
first try

edit: make sure u have the old customize app (from installer)

no the new one u just donwloaded was supposed to replace ur old one making u have 1
 
Maybe it has something todo with the international settings or so ? My iPod's language is English, but time and date formats are in Dutch...
 
Just like the other version of Customize.app hacked for the touch, this one works straight away for some, but only after some effort for others. Who knows why ...

Anyway, apart from 'tapping the chicken' up to 20 times, try editing your N45AP.plist file (swap a couple of the Dock entries, they're easiest), save and replace. This finally launched it for me. And once you get it working the first time, it never crashes again.

Ya, I can't get it to work either. I've tried everthing here and on the ipod touch fans forum.
I'm no expert, but there must be some bug somewhere that is causing this. It might have to take a whole new app to rearrange the icons (besides editing the N45AP.plist file).
 
Does Customize still change your Music and Video icons to just "iPod"?
