I am more interested in how well it will run on newer Macs in general. Is this finally the tipping point, where games can run well on all Macs?
The raster version runs fine on a steam deck (with clear cut in settings). I assume all Apple Silicon Macs will run the game with varying settings for performance.

Really curious to see how well the path tracing version runs since it will be the only path traced game available on macOS (well unless Alan Wake 2 comes out as well next year).

I've seen it run under Crossover on an M1 Max really well (without RT, of course). Raytracing wrecks my 4070 in ways that I find unacceptable - can't imagine it's gonna be great on the Mac either. Fortunately I don't find it to improve things enough to really matter too much.

Control ultimate is coming to MacOS [either end of the year]. Do we know if Control has advanced RT?

Also, with Control being on MacOS, 50/50 chance AW 2 drops.
Control has RT, but it isn't path traced.

Does Apple have a Ray Reconstruction equivalent for fixing the errors introduced by upscaling?

Apple can sell more M4 Max 40-core iGPU if that's the minimum requirement to get >=30fps 1080p RT no downscaling.

Hopefully, no more boo-hoo not-fair it's not native AS game comments.

"Native" doesn't mean anything. It will still be a port of a Windows game by devs who don't have a great experience in Metal/TBDR and won't be compelled to optimize as much as they have been on Windows/consoles. Games will aways be ported to macOS as an after thought.

Case in point, most games used to run better on Bootcamp than on macOS even though they used Metal and the hardware was the same.
And those that run about as well on MacOS and bootcamp (RoTR for instance) show a lower performance delta when comparing an AS Mac (using Rosetta) to an equivalent windows PC than certain AS native games like Death Stranding (which really isn't a very good port).

I think there have been such poor quality ports that run more poorly than Windows versions using Crossover.

Ooh, yeah. I'm not really interested in Cyberpunk, but the Witcher (the full series or just 3) would be incredible. If Apple's going after older games, might as well get the best ones.
Cyberpunk 2077 has grounds to be critiqued, but despite this, it’s the most impressive city, environment simulation, main and companion quests, and its overall structure and environmental ambience is a sight to behold. I’m on my 4th playthough. 😄

I didn’t say it was bad, I just said I’m not interested in it.

I hope bootcamp never returns, it was crap and old graphic drivers and Windows. And a lot of those games that are native (like World of Warcraft) are running pretty good and have a good support team. Takes time and patience, please no Bootcamp.
