Well got in and deleted the file but am getting same result in getting booted back to home screen....:(

Try delete what I did to fix mine then...

/var/lib/apt/lists

Delete everything in the lists folder BUT the Partial folder/file :)

there is a ultrasnow packages folder in there, delete it also ?

I did reboot the first try...

I had loads in there, and yeah it might break your unlock but if you know how to do that again I say yes. Or maybe just try everything but that. Its hard to advise as I am a bit of a noob myself but you cant really do much wrong in that folder but break cydia and maybe some apps you have installed from it.

Your looking at a complete re-jailbrake anyway, but its your call.

Yea my freakin luck it will brick the damn thing....:p

I will just take it back and pay the guy to redo it.

thanks for all the help though, appreciate it...

After jailbreaking I had a hell of a time getting Cydia to do anything useful. It must have crashed a couple dozen times while trying to get 3G Unrestrictor. Once in a while it looked like it was getting close, however, so I kept trying and eventually I must have hit the magic combination. It came up and ran perfectly, I was able to buy and install the app and everything works just fine. Now again today it was back to it's usual non-functional self but once again, it did run once which was enough to get a couple other small utilities installed. Persistence and patience. I get a lot of server not available or found messages so I tend to think it's somewhat unstable software driven over the edge by an unstable or heavily used server.

anybody update cydia tonight and crash

just like as discribed here my Cydia is crashing went though the thread deleated the files it's still crashing very frustrating.
