Update:

I think I got this figured out. It's my external RAID that's crashing the system. I have a 16tb LaCie 2Big connected through Thunderbolt 3. The system doesn't crash when it's disconnected. I'm going to try connecting it thru USB3 and see if it does the same. It may need a firmware update???

I'll report back.

btw, Apple called me again and said the same thing AGAIN that my 3rd party RAM is defective, to which I told them that Apple's RAM is doing the same thing. I don't think they're even trying at this point.

You may be right. I have a G-RAID Removable Thunderbolt 3 28TB drive. I use 6TB of that drive for TimeMachine. My iMac has not been stable since upgrading to Catalina, but today has been the worst. It has been freezing and rebooting all day. Nothing is showing up in the system error logs either. After reading your update, I unmounted the G_RAID, shut it down, and rebooted. (This time on purpose.) So far, so good. This is the furthest I've gotten today without a reboot. If this machine runs for 24-hours without rebooting, I'll be very happy.

Another update:

Yep. Connecting the RAID through USB didn't cause the panics. Seems the Thunderbolt 3 connection was the problem. Not exactly sure what is causing them tho.

Apple support will do that, blame anything that isn't bought from their store, even if there's no proof. I spent a whole year with support with a shambling, faulty MacBook Pro, where they blamed my CalDigit TS3+ docking station for my issues.

But it was the laptop that was faulty all along. They still refuse to admit this. I wrote up the story.

This became even more relevant with the release of Catalina and the problems it brought. Since the Executive rep I dealt with closed the case officially with my allegedly faulty dock being the issue (despite proof of the contrary) , support now refuse to deal with bugs without removing the dock from the setup. Big mounds of ??.
