Dead Pixels How many of you have them? New iMac Mid 2011

Just checked my new 27", and it does not seem to have any dead pixels.

I waited until the apple guy was doing the checkout thing and I asked if I could have the trackpad instead of the mouse. He went out back to talk to the manager and came back with the pad. He subtracted 69.00 from the imac total and added in the track at 69.00. He said "I hope I don't forget to take the mouse back" and winked. I left with an unopened imac. Others have reported the same deal, It all depends on the apple store mgr. For the record after I set up the pad, I shut off the mouse and threw it in the empty imac box. I love the pad.

I have a stuck white pixel on my new 21.5 but I can't see it unless the screen is completely black. I also don't see it during normal use. Not going to worry about it.

imac 27 with 4 dead pixels

I bought the new 2011 imac 27" and I have 4 dead pixels. I'm returning this computer and ordering a new one.
Apple was sending me to the Apple Care Team to see if they can fix it at the store but I don't have time to do that and I want a brand new imac not a repaired one

Apple quality isn't what it used to be

No dead pixels here. no yellow problems either. Got my 27" wednesday after the refresh.
Its quiet and I got both the mouse and pad. I feel lucky!

What does this tell us about the quality of recent Apple products (at least iMacs) when a person feels lucky to receive a product that is free of flaws and defects?

Apple needs to seriously step up its game and address legitimate customer concerns about the quality and reliability of their products.

Yeah don't settle for anything less than a brand new replacement. Repairs on brand new items is crazy! They should have got it right at the factory. You've also effectively then paid full price for a refurb and Apple is laughing their ass off at you.
