A car that is a few months old leaving you stranded on the highway? Really? Then you must be as Zen as Dalai Lama. Of course products will fail and of course Apple will replace this – once again that's not the point. The point is relatively new products shouldn't just suddenly fail in an environment they were designed for. And if they do, then you have every right to be revolted and question the producer's quality testing.
Yes, this is what I pay for insurance for.

I tried this a few years back after smashing my iPhone screen on day 1 of honeymoon but they wouldn't send it out to another country!
Indeed. Apple care is only valid in the country it was purchased (Apart from the EU who are treated as one country)

Sort of.

While Apple "Can" limit coverage to the country of purchase, generally they'll honor AppleCare+ under the rules of the country where the customer is staying. So if that country doesn't offer AppleCare+ on the product, you don't get AppleCare+ coverage (e.g. accidental damage will have to wait until you get home, or somewhere where it's offered).

And even if they DO offer AppleCare+ they might not offer Express Replacement; you might have to send it in or bring it to a service centre.

As far as the EU being treated "as one country" - not really. For example, AppleCare+ extensions are only available in certain countries within the EU.

I tried to read this tornado of sentence fragments, but was overwhelmed by all the disconnected points like a lion facing 4 legs of a chair. Looks like it’s time to return a watch. Bad seal, get a new one.

Its just gear, and all gear breaks down. You got to vacation in Greece. Ask yourself how anyone ever enjoyed a Greek holiday without fancy designer electronics, and then try that.

Zoom out. Think of all the horrible things that could happen to you in life. A watch broke down. Enjoy your holiday.
