Haven't had a single one of those issues here with SL - in fact it is rock solid.

I also run Win7 x64 on a spare PC, and it is also a very good OS.

With the greatest respect to you Scottsdale, your anti-SL thread crapping is pretty tiresome. Why not post your SL problems in the software forums here or somewhere similar, and ask for assistance?

Seriously. SL has some minor issues but it works great all day everyday on machines from a rev A Air to a 17" 2009 MBP. If you are having such persistent issues, something is broken. Fix it, dont make wild accusations about an OS most of us use all day with few issues.

Bad RAM, dirty power, issue w the runcore drive, user error etc there is an explanation for your problems.

I am disgusted with Snow Leopard. EVERYTHING seems problematic. I can open almost any application and have the OS fail. Usually it seems to be Safari, but I have lost Word docs, Pages docs, Excel spreadsheets, emails typed out, and even iLife failures across the board. It USUALLY is the first app I start after a startup or waking from sleep.

It has happened on TWO different drives on one MBA and TWO different MBAs (totaling three drives). I had problems with 10.6 and 10.6.1 but those problems were minor; once I upgraded to the latest Safari and 10.6.2 everything has gone DOWNHILL FAST!

Usually, I lose a long message like this typed in Safari 20% of the time. I have lost HOURS of writing in long docs, and I have lost much time rebooting, force shutdown after freeze ups hang for 30 minutes, and etc ALL IN SNOW LEOPARD 10.6.2!

In Windows 7, I HAVE LOST NOTHING! I have had COMPLETE SUCCESS with EVERYTHING... including Safari, all docs, and ALL HARDWARE! I even had no printer support in Snow Leopard but full printer support in Windows 7.

No body could make me believe that Apple gives a damn about the Mac and Mac users right now. It is full force ahead making crazy margins on iPods and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, iPHONES! I guess Apple is making like 150% return on the iPhone, so it forgets the first 20+ years of existence it was A COMPUTER COMPANY! Let's not forget the STUPID tablet device that has done nothing but cost Jobs sleepless nights for seven years! How about a little love for the Mac and OS X?

I am pissed that I can run 64-bit Windows 7 on my MBA WITHOUT Windows 7 compatible drivers by Apple. What happened to Windows 7 support from Apple that was promised in 2009? I am pissed that Microsoft is exceeding my expectations and Apple is failing. It makes it POINTLESS to buy a $2000 MBA if OS X is GARBAGE! The reason I buy Apple products used to be "they just work." Now, it seems I am buying MBAs because they look pretty! Cannot get a damn thing done on it... and been booting to Windows 7 to do my work because I cannot even count on Pages in OS X!

I am not happy, and I don't think we should all continue to give Apple a free pass on all of this! If things don't change real fast, I will not be buying the next MBA!

Somehow I find this completely exaggerated.

Not to mention anytime I called Apple I've had stellar service so I have to completely disagree with the "Apple not caring about the consumer" deal.

The point is when we're paying this much money, the damn thing should just work! I believe there is a serious problem happening with the upgrade process of 10.6.2 and/or latest Safari.

I have been a huge champion of the MBA and the Mac's superior OS in the past. However, lately I find that OS X is worse than Vista ever was... and I switched for stability. I only have stability on Windows 7 on my MBA.

Another big problem is we all say we want an MBA to run "just works" OS X, but that hasn't been the case for a while. In fact, about 20% of my friends and colleagues have had "major" issues since upgrading to OS X 10.6.x on their MBAs. The other 80% seem to still have their "rock-solid" reliability.

I just am clueless as to how to make it work??? Keep reinstalling the OS until I get a good install? Not install Safari on 10.6.2 and just use FireFox? None of the options seem sensible.

For my next ultraportable, Windows 7 will probably be a similar value for me as OS X. I guess the most frustrating thing is paying so much money and justifying it as "it's the only way to run a solid OS" seems to be an invalid point for the MBA. If there's a Dell, HP, Acer, ASUS, or whatever at a better VALUE, I just might go that route. I have been such a huge fan that I am really FRUSTRATED.

I just want OS X 10.6.2 to work as it should... is that really too much to ask given the price tag of the MBA? I bet an Adamo would be a more stable experience right now with Windows 7.... that's sad!
