why are all you people getting burned by them?

Dont expect to render a DVD, run CS2, FCS or Logic 7 with a laptop resting on your lap. It never worked well, and never will. Until someone shows us pictures of being burned by a MB or MBP then all the "OMG i just got biz-urned by my MB(P)....teh suxxorz!!!!" comments are null and void.
As a matter of fact, I played UT2004 with my MBP17 on my lap (wearing shorts) for about 40 minutes AFTER the laptop had been running UT2004 by itself for about four hours. Warm for sure, but no problemfaintember said:Dont expect to render a DVD, run CS2, FCS or Logic 7 with a laptop resting on your lap. It never worked well, and never will.
Agreed. Unless there are some really uber defective units floating around (or people are using their machines on their wool blankets for 15 hours then sitting them on their laps), nobody is going to actually get burned.faintember said:Until someone shows us pictures of being burned by a MB or MBP then all the "OMG i just got biz-urned by my MB(P)....teh suxxorz!!!!" comments are null and void.

The reason I ask is I am thinking about getting a new laptop BUT my employer is about to issue me a new one as well. I think they are getting me a Dell Latitude D620... not my money so don't care all that much. If the OP has a 620 and likes it then I will be even more happy.
