39 sometime next year... As an intern sales engineer during they hey day in the late nineties of telecom, our whole team was on mac's... Much to the chagrin of the national company.. OK MCI... We loved the graphic and networking abilities... c'mon appletalk was the rage back then!!
My next MAC experience was recommending a computer for a student association at the University of Arizona.. Mac SE/30 was my recomendation and that's where we rolled...circa 1990..
Ever since then I've been in Windows land and have been waiting for the best value proposition from Apple to finally pull the trigger. The time is near, if not now... I have a creative side hobby with music and video editing, and have been getting by with XP apps that are adequate.. When they went Intel my attention went beyond that of curiosity... With Leopard coming out I'm finally ready to pull the trigger..... I see a new 24" under the xmas tree this year.. I research probably too much before making a large investment in computing, but I've been on this board for a long time. If I listen to closely I'd never buy one. Now that they (apple) is on the Intel train, they are handcuffed by Intel's upgrade path for new announcements. It would be a coupe if they managed to get the first few thousand processors off their assembly line... As telecom carriers we've done that with Cisco, Juniper, etc that I think it's possible...
Sorry for my pontification, but I can't wait to get my new Imac by the end of the year...
