Water on keyboard generally does not require repair

Just an aside:

Simple water spills generally do not cause damage if the machine is opened up and allowed to dry slowly and sufficiently.

At least the mother-in-law and wife were okay. In the end, it's a stupid computer... I would rather hear, "I am glad you're okay and it's just a computer" from my spouse than "I told you so, you're lazy, and because of your laziness, we're out a bunch of money!"

-My mother in law lost her balance a little bit, and tipped the water. She's fit and healthy. The plastic cup she was holding never even left her hand. She was NEVER in any danger of actually falling.

-The water was not made of acid, so there was no danger that the little bit that might have touched my wife would burn through her skin an cause permandent damage.

You make it sound like we just lived through a plane crash and should all be thanking our lucky stars we're all still alive.

This was a common everyday little spill of water. It happens - All. The. Time.

Trust me, it does in our house, we have an 8-year-old daughter.

So, given that little accidents like that can, and do happen all the time, I urged my wife to not leave the laptop on a low table, unattended with the lid open!

Instead, the common, everyday spill of water cost me $700+ dollars.

Now, if you're so rich that every time a common everyday little mistake can cost you $700 and you don't mind, then fine. But I'm not. Especially when I warned my wife about it, and it could have been so easily prevented.

Guys--honestly, who gives a crap about the guy's mother-in-law spilling a bit of water?

I swear this is the most PG13 forum/lives I've ever been a part of.

Agreed.

But Scottsdale jumped all over me for my first post, and continues to do so, so I felt I should respond.

You have my vote, and I'm married since 1996 ;)

Watching internet fights is like watching retarded monkeys throw poo at each other. It accomplishes absolutely nothing, but it sure is fun to sit back and watch.

I am not continuing to be "all over you." Come on, you're the one who is blowing it out of proportion. You called your wife lazy and blamed her for being out $700 over a little spilled water, ON A PUBLIC FORUM:confused:

Why don't you post some info here on your PM stunt? How about remind people all of the names you called me in this thread? I definitely believe you are the one who blew this out of proportion. I was discouraged by the tone of your reply, as I don't believe this is the way we should talk about people.

In the end, my point is it's a stupid computer, and you think it's acceptable to call your wife lazy and blame her for costing you $700 on a PUBLIC forum. Did you even try to turn the MB upside down afterwards. Did it really cost you $700 to fix per your projection of costs? Many people take their Mac notebooks apart after a little spill. Let them dry for a few weeks, and put them back together and they work as they always did.

I believe you were too worried about proving yourself correct and her wrong for not listening to you... and that's ashamed. Life is too short to get all worked up over stupid little things. People feel bad enough after mistakes and accidents, and they learn for themselves without people pointing out their flaws. They don't need to be told how lazy they're nor how they cost a bunch of money.

Now go ahead and take another shot at me for being "all over you." I know you have to get the last word in... and this is my last word in this thread. Wasn't ever worth my time, because the point has been completely missed, and now it's probably my fault you spent $700 over a cup of spilled water.

Glad we could entertain.

Scottsdale and I are considering taking this show on the road ... so tune back in for ticket info in the near future.

No, this site surely isn't a marriage counseling advice center. However, people do interact here, and I believe it's disrespectful to talk about people in such a way whether it is or isn't the topic of this site. <other witless blathering deleted>

And you're being a know-it all knob. How dare you offer any comment whatsoever on someone else's marriage!

The arrogance of some people is just astonishing.
