Downloading now from the Mac App Store; roughly ~6GB of 16.61GB in. I'll try it out tomorrow.

Hmm. Downloaded and installed but once in the game, my Logitech mouse is non-functional - I can't look around. I've sent a report to Feral support and will try re-downloading/reinstalling the game to see if that may fix my issue.

I think you posted on Facebook as well so we got your message :) We will have a look at your symptoms but I don't think the download will be the cause of your issue, more likely something slightly none standard in your setup compared to a vanilla Mac. Right now you are the only user to report this issue for the many who have downloaded and started playing.

You should get an initial reply later today once we have a look at your setup and work out what is wrong on your Mac.

Hello all, kind Feral support team here ;)

*** Simple Reason ***

Just in case anyone else has this issue we have tracked it down to a bug in the latest Logitech mouse drivers. It does NOT effect the mouse unless you install the "Logitech Control Center for Mac" drivers. So far it looks like the bug only effects the MX series.

*** Technical Reason ***

The Logitech drivers appear to have a bug that affects some mice; they will no longer send movement and mouse clicks using the standard OS input method, as they want to manipulate the data first. This means that if you are using the Apple-recommended way of getting input with the drivers, they don't give you any useful information like clicks or movements.

*** Solution ***

Uninstalling the Logitech drivers BEFORE playing the game will fix the issue.

p.s. We are logging the issue with Logitech support but please feel free to let them know as well. The uninstaller can be found in the Applications/Utilities folder and is called "LCC Uninstaller".

I guess this is the same for a logitech keyboard... will it work without the logitech drivers?

I don't think the keyboards are effected by the driver issue.

However so you don't worry, I have used a Logitech Keyboard and mouse on one of my Mac's without drivers since I bought them and I have not had any problems.

So, Actually it works thanks BUT if we uninstall the logitech driver we also loose the Functions keys of the keyboards. For me they are very useful... I did't find a way yet to unpair the mouse so it can use apple standard input method instead of logitech but keep the keyboard (which I think is affected the same way anyway if i keep LCC... So i'm sad and not proud of my country today (logitech HQ) and i hope they will do something very soon. Plus as i said by email, I suspect this will solve the problem of assasin's creed game, Thanks for your help and please let us know if you have news from them. I'll try to contact them myself...

We will do, we are disappointed about the bug in Logitech drivers but we will let them know about the problem and hopefully it will be fixed in a update to their drivers.

Just to say that i managed to unpair the logitech mouse from the software (the only way for another usb mouse to work with apple drivers with lcc installed) but sadly i was right and the keyboard doesn't react during the game if i keep the logitech drivers...
I have actually to choose between play the game and loose the F Keys or keep the f keys and not play... (or change my key board that i really prefer instead of apple one's)

Another question which i don't know if it's related or not : Why I don't have any issue with other games ported by feral (Batman, tropico, mafia 2) all of them (except for deus ex 3) coming from the mac app store? Can i try to buy again Deus ex via mac app store an hoping any success?

Just uninstall the drivers and it works fine.

Anybody try installing this game with a NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB graphics card (or any other unsupported graphics card)? I did and it runs like crap as expected.

Is there any way I can turn stuff down to run smoothly or am I screwed completely with this graphic card?

ok... my idea to buy the game with another mac with lion and copy the app on the mac with snow (same appleid) didn't work. i'm not sure why but the app just rebound in the dock and... nothing (i changed the info plist to admit 10.6.8 as minimum requirement )

I love the Logitech mice but when I am out of the office, I use the trackpad and don't want the Logitech driver running. So instead of uninstalling, I just have it set to NOT launch at startup (i forget how I did that). When I want the Logitech driver running I run

/Library/Application\ Support/Logitech.localized/Logitech\ Control\ Center.localized/LCCDaemon.app/Contents/MacOS/LCCDaemon &

A similar solution might be good for the DeusEx ers

Finally the game is out for mac I thought. I downloaded it fired it up changed the resolution to 2560x1440, andturnedup the iCandy. The game is unbearable to play. I turned every iCandy off but kept my resolution. The game is still unplayable. I take the resolution down to 1920x1080, the game is now possible to play through but just barly and not giving a good gameplay feel. The game is running better in parallels with windows 7 than native macport.

I have the high end iMac with the AMD 6970 card so this level of performance is in no way acceptable. I am sure there is only a bug somewhere but it needs to be found and squashed. Cause I don't pay 50$ for a game I would call unplayable. Is there any way to display frame rate?

I really hope you can help me out eddy, as I really enjoy what you and feral are doing for the Mac gaming community.

Contact support with a support report. That card should be fine, I don't know if we have enough VRAM to turn all the settings up with that card on native resolution as you are using a 27" screen I know Square Enix played the game on the same model iMac for our approvals process and loved it.

So pleased that this game is out on the mac! Should be downloaded by the time I get home.... Goodbye weekend! :D

Just to let everyone know, there have been a few reports of users with trackpads or using third party mouse software having problems. We also have an isolated incident on one of the AMD 4000 series models.

The mouse and trackpad issues can be avoided by uninstalling the mouse drivers. We are working on a patch and plan to get it into submission with Apple as soon as it has been fully tested.

The AMD 4000 series issue has been fixed internally and will be in the 1.0.1 update.

We really care about giving you all a great experience with all our games old and new so any issues no matter how small let us know and we will investigate.

Hope everyone with a copy enjoys playing, we know we did over the last few months while developing it.

Edwin

I'm one of the ones with the Radeon 4xxx graphics glitches. Makes the game totally unplayable so I'm eagerly awaiting the 1.01 patch!

I also had an unresponsive mouse at the start. In my case I traced it to USB overdrive which I use to control my razer mamba to do weird stuff. I simply told USB overdrive not to do anything in deus ex and fixed that.

All Logitech driver users

I have a workaround for you that will allow you to keep the drivers installed and play the game. We have a patch coming but for now if you want you can try this.

Open the Terminal and run the following command.

Code:
launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchAgents/com.Logitech.Control\ Center.Daemon.plist

Unplug your mouse and keyboard from your Mac and plug them back in. Now start the game. Once you have completed playing you can then reload the drivers using this command.

Code:
launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/com.Logitech.Control\ Center.Daemon.plist

Please note these steps work on my laptop with a logitech keyboard and mouse attached but as this is a terminal command you have to be happy and confident to run the commands. If you are uncomfortable with the terminal just wait for the patch but for you more technical people this solution will allow you to play now.

Just think of it as augmenting your Mac ;)

Edwin

p.s. I will update everyone in the thread as soon as the 1.0.1 patch is complete.

thanks, I think I'll wait impatiently for the patch if it resolves this, i'm comfortable with my mac but really allergic to the terminal so i'll try the command to test it and play one time then wait!
Any idea of when the 1.01 is coming?

I tried the command line but I think there is something wrong because it said "nothing found to unload" however the deamon and the plist files exist so i moved the deamon in my desktop temporarily and quitted it with activity monitor. It made the mouse work with the game but not the keyboard... as a proof the f1-f19 keys still work. ( I remind they don't when all logitech files are away) maybe it's because the keyboard is using another usb receiver (which is not the little "unifying" but a bigger one). However i didn't found which logitech files where impacting keyboard, I just know there is some because as I said without logitech files, the keyboard works with the game...

short answer the lcc deamon impact the mouse but not my keyboard (di novo mac edition)
sorry...

edit :
I found it!
When i remove the file : "logitechhiddevices.kext" it make the mouse and keyboard works during the game but disabling the Functions keys, etc etc. so if you can find a way to disable/unload this file when launching the game you will be my hero! otherwise i have to enter my password every time to remove the file and put it back!

We don't have your exact keyboard, can you PM me the exact model of mouse and keyboard you use?
