Dev Team 1.1.2 Jailbreak Released!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

Read the README first.

Completely functional for iPod touch; no activation yet for iPhone (we need testers).

also i need someone to uploaded it in to rapid share and post it

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3A110a Safari/419.3)

Other than adding calendar events (which I can do now anyway on my jailbroken iPod) what would upgrading allow me to do?

If my 1.1.1 ipod is already jailbroken, do I have to restore in order to do this jailbreak?

You can just download OktoPrep from Installer and continue with the update. But it's probably better to just restore first.

No, it will erase all of your apps, but when you reinstall them all of your preferences will still be there if you do an update, including your summerboard themes.

hmm, something didn't go right I don't think.
my ipod is stuck on the lock screen, it wont let me slide to unlock.
I downloaded the 1.1.2 on my ipod. shut itunes, clicked the windows ms-dos batch file, it flashed for a second and it's not here anymore. I already downloaded the ok prep whatever that was in installer. :( do I have to restore? It took me like a few hours to get all my music on here, it would suck it I had to start again.

Sounds like you need to do a restore. Follow the README that's in the zip file.
It worked great for me, my Touch now has 1.1.2 firmware and is jailbroken. Also, if you do end up doing a restore, when iTunes tries to sync your music, cancel the sync. You can sync once the jailbreak is success; it saves a lot of time.

i did follow the instructions.
I restored but it restored with 1.1.2
anyone have the link to downgrade?

I fallowed the instructions, but it says it can't find an application to open the file "osx". Anyone else have this problem?

Nvm, found the solution on another forum:

"Ok, looks like I got it to work. Unfortunately, simply clicking the "osx" executable is not going to work. If you're not in Terminal, and not in the right Current Working Directory (CWD), that file is not going to find the JAR file it needs. What yall need to do this:

Download and extract the file to your Desktop. It should extract to something called "1".

Now, open Terminal, at the prompt, type: cd ~/Desktop/1

This will put you in the "1" folder, and allow "osx" to see the JAR file (hint: If you type: pwd, you should see the path to the "1" folder).

Now, execute "osx" by typing: ./osx

You should see a lot of crazy **** go by for a WHILE, then it will reboot twice and you should be done. Now go learn some UNIX!"

Yeah, what about for windows?
I clicked the windows file but it isn't doing anything. :(
do I have to do something of this sort?

If anyone's having the trouble I just had (i.e., clicking osx didn't launch), here's how to do the jailbreak on osx- I found this on the original comments from the tuaw page:

Remember how I just posted that, one post above you? Look before you post.

i'm stll in the original FW 1.1.1, so i can use directly this 1.1.2 jailbreak FW? anyone? still newbie here. tnx.;)

If you down load the package from Conceited software, everything is listed in the readme file. You would start on step 2b

Those who have iPhone apps on your touch - be aware that 1.1.2 breaks Mail.app

When you say breaks the mail app, do you mean I will have to re-install the mail app and loose all my preferences, or even after re-installing the mail app it will not work?

Edit: I found the answer, one needs to download the latest version of mail from the 1.1.2 Iphone

I got the same prob.
Right now I'm restoring via the 'restore' button, I don't know if the ./osx apps still works because the update cleans my whole device..
