I opted in the moment they announced SC2 and D3, no luck here. Probably because my machine is so old they don't want me testing it. I pre-ordered the CE regardless of whether or not my laptop can actually run it. I plan on upgrading in the next 8 months anyway.

So much for any NDAs regarding the beta? Then again, a Mac forum is probably the last place Blizzard would think to look. :p

Are you still available to opt in for Diablo III I am interest in it?

n/m I google it, can't get in the beta anyway since I don't have a paid subscription for any of the games so can't do the beta at battle.net

To be honest, Diablo 3 is disappointing. Blizzard is consumed too much by WoW. Diablo3 is still OK, but not so shining at this gaming era. Wow brings them easy money and inertia as well. The standard of this era, personally, I consider it is Elder Scroll V Skyrim.

I'll agree that Skyrim is a masterpiece, a true work of art. But it is totally unfair to compare a single player game with a multi player one. There are a lot of compromises you have to take for a multi player game. Besides that, Skyrim is a real rpg, while D3 is (and always been) an action fast-paced game with rpg bits here and there.

For what is worth, I believe that D3 will be at top notch game of his kind, just because I know by now that blizzard always tries to make quality work. And make money of course out of it...

Is there anywhere we can check performance on different types of machines ?

I'm very interested to know how Diablo 3 would run on my machine (early 2008 imac 2.8Ghz Core2duo, 4Gb RAM, 256Mb Radeon HD 2600 Pro)...

I also have an access to the beta.
With my mid-2010 MBP (Core i5 2.4Ghz, 8GB RAM and GT330M 256 MB) the game is running in 1680*1050 with details in high or medium.

There is sometimes some lags but I think it's because of the beta, not the computer.

D3 is quite pretty, hope it will be released soon :D

Has anyone tried it at 1680*1050 using hd3000 ?

I dunno why anyone would switch to the HD 3000 on a 15 or 17 inch laptop. There's someone running it at medium on 1280x800 on a macbook air i think with an HD 3000. It runs smooth enough, seeing as he is using screen capture.

Do you think i'll be able to run setting at medium or high with that mac?

Intel® Core™ i5-2400S CPU @ 2.50GHz
2,52 GHz
4 Go
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 Mo

Is anyone running the beta with that config?

hardware issues

Beta runs great on my 2007 MBP (2.2 Core 2 Duo with 4gb RAM and 128mb video card) but crashes within 10 seconds of gameplay on my 2010 iMac (2.8 i5 with 12gb Ram and 1gb video card)

My iMac runs:

2.8GhZ i7 Processor
8GB RAM
AMD RadeonHD 6770M (512MB VRAM)

and Diablo 3 runs absolutely great at native 1920x1080 resolution. 2/4 video settings are on high and the other two are on medium. I haven't checked what kind of frames I pull but it looks crisp and smooth so I doubt they are too bad. It lags a bit on occasion but that's my internet connection sucking.

Have you been checking your bnet account or just email? I know I thought I didn't have one because I never got an email but I went onto bnet one day (ironically do download D2 lol) and the beta was listed in my games.

I check weekly. :(

I even worked with support and got them a correct way or showed them the issue a while back with the Mac beta system checker and how to get it working properly. To bad support has not control to throw me a bone.

That sucks. In all honesty though, I kinda wish I hadn't have gotten the beta. I mean its great, don't get me wrong, but I think it sorta diminishes how huge the official release will be. At least the beta only has the first little bit of the game so its not like I know the entire thing.

What worries me is the update post they made today. A lot of decently major things are being changed, things that should have been worked out already. I love that blizzard wants to release a perfect game but the wait is killing.

Just got my beta key!

Just got my key late last night.

Installed with no issues and played on my mid 2010 27" iMac.

Very pretty at full quality. In slow scenes no lag or stuttering. With lots of actions it does slow.

I don't know why everyone picks on this title - other than it massive delay- it is still a good evolution of D2. While I can only play a small portion of the final, the mechanics are still similar enough to be familair yet different enough to be fresh.

Much like going from D1 to D2. More profound that just D2 to LOD but the gist and heart of the game is still there with some added coolness.

I just hope they can finish what they need and actually role this one out sometime this year.

Got my key

Got my key in the new wave of 100,000 invites. Really fun, albeit short (i know... beta). Playing on an early 2011 MBP 2.2ghz 15" 1gb 6750, and it plays like a dream at 1650x1050 with no AA.

Only done one play-through with the Witch Doctor so far, but it was a blast.

Aside from gameplay, does anyone feel there are way too many click "X" to close windows? Also the random use of Times New Roman is odd.

Favorite classes so far and why?

I'd love to share mine but my only experience with the game is at Blizzcons.

But Witch Doctor was hella OP 2-3 years back :p
