I enjoyed the game up until inferno mode as a barbarian.

I've struggled up to Act 2 Inferno and have reached a brick wall. Buying Act 3 & 4 gear from the auction house is pretty much required for me to progress, which is a poor mechanic.

I'm hoping endgame gets some work done on it soon. I'm looking forward to PVP.

Agreed. I've been hitting this since late Nightmare mode with the Witch Doctor. Not only am I never finding adequate drops (the stuff the merchants sell are far superior to the rares I find, wtf?) but out of curiousity I've been keeping a table of usable drops.

So far out of 6,554 items picked up not ONE was useable by my Witch Doctor (to be useable it has to have stats slightly below, equal to, or greater than what I have on).

Not to mention some of the skills aren't adequate anymore, but there are no replacements. Most of the skills the WD has suck, have far too long of recast time to be useful, and don't do near enough damage. Of the useful skills (like the dogs), they die so freaking quick that they're almost useless, but sadly they're still the best defense to have.

It gets more broken the higher you go :/

Can "usable" gear be purchased for real money? If so, a big, (not good) hmmm.

To my knowledge the real money auction house isn't up yet (It was supposed to go up May 29th I think so maybe it is up and I haven't seen it).

The gold auction house is the only one I'll use because I'm not paying real money that could go towards my Mari license for in game Diablo items :p

It wouldn't surprise me if it is up though as the regular AH hasn't had as many good items lately :/

EDIT: The currency auction house has been pushed back to June 12th.

I have an early 2008 MBP. And today I finished Diablo 3 on normal mode. lol casual gaming on my mac.

Dont ask me how but my mac is actually able to run it, on the lowest of all settings though and with that little change from 0 to 1 trick on youtube (or is it 1 to 0 ?? Its late)

but hopefully when I get the new MBP the week after next I can get better settings on that.

I solo'd the whole thing up to Izual on Inferno. Can't do any more, the 9400M card can't handle the Izual fight - playing with around 7 to 9 FPS on a fight where you need to move a lot is rubbish. On easier game modes you can simply dps him down fast, so I didn't mind.

Doesn't matter anyway, the game is about farming and I did farm Act 4 for a week. Utterly bored of it now. Game is so tiny and there isn't really a point in gearing your character at endgame - except to make farming more efficient.

While I'm not totally against it - the game has no atmosphere. It's not like D1 or D2. It feels more WoWish and I never really was able to love it.

Gameplay is pretty nicely done though. I'd say 6.5/10 is a fair score for a 2012 game.

Edit: I'm kinda glad is wasn't so great, means I won't be spending ridiculous hours playing games for now.

I'm just now starting my second run through nightmare as a demon hunter. I've never played a game like this before but it was pretty decent. Is the pvp fun at all? I saw it didn't make the cut for launch.

Hi

I Really love Diablo 3 but i was a huge fan of Diablo 2. Really interesting and I love the game play. When I start playing it I get so much involved that I don't even realize how much time I have actually spent. :)

I have to agree about the poorly balanced late game items. Its so hard to get stuff for my witchdoctor. I basically have to go to the AH for anything I want because the items to keep me in the fight just do not drop. I probably get one witch doctor item for every 1000 pieces of armor I pick up. Most of its stuff for the Wizard or Demon Hunter class :/

Not to mention I found out that training the Black Smith and Jeweler is a giant waste of money.

I've played all 5 classes and I would say the witch doctor is the hardest class to play due to low DPS.

I am guessing D2 Necromancer was too easy (except for bosses) so they tried to make the class harder.

About gears, WD can use single hand weapons from a few other classes; you are not limited to WD specific weapons. Also, Blizzard noted that dual wield can typically be better than one 2 handed weapon.

Holy S... guys. Thanks. I think I'll think a bit longer about getting it...

I can sell you mine... I thought I would like it, but think I will stick with games like Skyrim or even Guild Wars 2... I remember playing Diablo I and getting tired of the 'Not Enough Mana' quip... Same boring dungeons... Can't believe I spent $60 on it...

But just my opinion...

I think you'd have to sell me your account too.

What's your character level?

Im pretty sure 60 is required for inferno.. Am I misunderstanding somethin?

Nope, welcome to Diablo 3.

The game is critically broken in Inferno, full stop. Drops are not what they should be and never will be, because Blizzard is holding the game back so they can launch the Real Money Auction House and sell you the things you need to progress for even more money.

If you didn't want to use the RMAH... Well, the gold auction house has become so utterly absurd- a decent weapon for Act III or IV will set you back anywhere from $5M to $60M.

This game has been reduced down to a repetitive farm fest with the occasional bout of kiting thrown in. I'm not sure what people find so attractive about this. Everyone I know has shelved the game already out of pure boredom. I was looking at rolling a new character, but I can't stand the notion of playing the game through another 3 or 4 times just to get to level 60.

I agree with Captain. In its current state, the game mechanics are broken. It's even worse for melee classes, which is a kite fest when facing Rare & Champion packs.

100% agree. The armor I need to do enough damage to kill things (potentially) before they ONE HIT me in hell mode is 30+ million. I can farm for an hour and make 50k. I also die a TON because the game is so broken balance wise that I get constantly one hitted by stuff.

The drops are not what they should be, and its all over the Diablo forums. Blizzard needs to address this fast.

60

There was some rare bug in which a few people said they got into higher level games by mistake.

But yeah in inferno all monsters are of higher level so I am sure you already know that you need to bait them or kite them.

Not really. You could (can?) join a friends game on the same difficulty level as you, even if you haven't unlocked the act they're on yet. So you could start fresh in Nightmare, join your friends game on Nightmare Act IV (Diablo fight), beat Diablo, then unlock Hell mode without actually playing through all of Nightmare first.

Actually that wasn't the bug, above.

The actual bug is/was that you can play a game by yourself in say, Normal mode Act4 - Leave game - Change Difficulty to Inferno - Act 4 Inferno Becomes Available. Works for all Acts.

No need for any friends to invite you or anything else. It definitely worked, I did it a lot when I was stuck on Belial. Went farming in Act 4 for a few days.

A lot of guys did that and farmed Aspects early on. Didn't need any gear for that. DH's can even suicide bomb them using Grenadier. A small minority really got rich and a headstart now with stuff like that.

It all sounds like I'm glad my laptop is too crappy to run the game (see sig), so my CE is gathering dust next to my desk. I plan on getting a new computer in the next month-ish, so perhaps by then most of the kinks will be worked out and I'll enjoy when I spend all my spare hours playing D3.

Actually, we're both wrong :|...

The "bug" is this- you start a new game on a difficulty that you've already cleared, then exit. Click on "Public Games", and you'll notice that level has been selected on your CURRENT difficulty level, even if you haven't unlocked it. Join the public game then exit, and you can click "Resume Game" to start off on that same level solo.

If you haven't found out by now, it is simply an item game.

If you are not yet level 60 (in the 50's), a good trick is to search for level 60 items with the Reduced Level Requirement enhancement.

That way you can easily get a weapon with 800+ damage early on in the game.

If you are getting 1-hit, then your gear is ******. It all boils down to gear, which is why it is silly there is a level cap of 60 in reality.
