Left apple when the 3GS got upgraded and made it SOOOO SLOOOOOOW. Sound familiar?

My wife is on a 5S. I stick around here to keep her phone on the straight and narrow.

People who think android is buggy simply haven't used a Nexus phone. People who think apple isn't buggy is in deep denial.

I look at it this way. apple and Android took two different paths. apple held back on features to make the OS smooth - waiting for hardware to catch up. Android went full throttle with the OS and chugged along with a bit of sluggishness until now when hardware has caught up to what we want phones to now do.
They haven't used an HTC phone either.

I decided to give the iPhone 6 a try (my previous iPhone was the 5), but eventually went back to my OnePlus One. There's just too much I've grown accustomed to in Android for me to switch back.

The number one thing I missed was SwipePad, where it let you swipe from a corner of your screen to access your shortcuts within an application. This works WONDERFULLY for my home automation setup. I was able to unlock my front door, or toggle the lights/AC in a simple flick of the finger.

Aside from SwipePad, I only use a handful of finance apps (available on both systems), text, and browsing the web. Both phones performed just fine in those regards.

Lastly, it was really hard to justify the $700+ price tag of the iPhone when I bought my OnePlus One for $360. For almost half the price of the iPhone 6, I have 64 GB of memory, a 5.5" screen and GREAT battery life.

While iOS has an unmatched feeling of refinement and polish, Android just works better for my needs. Hell, with the money I saved, I purchased myself a Moto 360 and am an extremely happy camper. I won't berate anyone for choosing X over Y or vice versa, but I do think it's worthwhile to experience both the latest iOS and Android and figure out what works best for you.

I'm the same way. I've experienced too much control and can't go back to a locked down OS. I was really thinking about getting a 6 Plus, but the removal of the Launcher app just re-confirmed why I left iOS in the first place.

I also have Tasker installed and it's amazing what it's able to do. I love the ability to have Tasker send a text message upon a contact's missed call. iOS doesn't have an app like that and will never have one.

I also love the freedom to install what I want, when I want.

I agree with you on iOS's feeling of being polished.

Android is what works for me. Just use the OS that's best for you.

I have had my 6 plus for 3 days. My last iPhone was the 4s. Had an evo 4g, s3 and s4 since then. I think I may return next week for the Note 4. Or maybe I will get both. Maybe that's the better idea. I do like the 6 plus. It's not blow your mind but the screen, battery life, and camera are excellent especially since the specs are not as high.

I switched from an iPhone 4S to a Galaxy S4 to an iPhone 5S to a Nexus 5 to an iPhone 6 Plus.

I'm presently very happy with the 6P :)

Had my IP6 since launch day. Great phone! But looking at the Xperia Z3 as its replacement.

Got an iPhone 6 and Moto g 2nd gen (kit kat) at the same time. Both great phones. iPhone is a familiar interface but the Moto interface I was digging mostly cause it was new to me. I really like the notification system on kitkat over iOS. iPhone felt faster but both were easy to navigate and use. I don't think you can go wrong with either as they have both matured well. I'll see how the speed on the android holds up after a few months.

Well the iPhone probably would feel faster. You are comparing a 200 dollar off contract phone with a slower processor to a 600+ dollar off contract phone. If you were to say compare it to the Nexus 5, HTC One M8 or Moto X you probably wouldn't have saw a speed difference and if you did it would have been very slight

I went iphone 5s last year and this time its time to go back to android, i checked out both the iphone 6 and 6 plus and its just boring me at the moment, i know if i stay on ios this year again i will hate my phone by the beginning of the year. Ive always had a short attention spand when it came to phones even before smart phones came out i was always switching from sony ericsson to the other.

I want t stay on ios as i have an app coming out on it first but that godman note 4 is just to sexy. Only thing i am scared of is touch wiz i hate it cause it has the old android look.

I am hoping that the nexus has some official release information a little before, or on the time of the note 4 release so i know if i should wait or not. Ive had the new phone itch since july and i will burst if i dont get a new one in my hands soon.

A colleague of mine is a former Galaxy Note 3 owner who bought the Plus on launch. I asked him if he was considering selling it for the Note 4 and he is more than happy with his choice apparently. He's a first time iPhone owner too.

For anyone to say that iOS does not have bugs is either a liar of does not use the OS on a daily basis. I encountered so many bugs on iPhone 6 I ended up returning after a week. I cannot be the only one that feels that iOS and many of these apps do not provide a smooth experience.

I've had the odd bug like the screen not switching between landscape and portrait mode on some occasions. I can't say any of the glitches made me want to return the phone because its common knowledge that after a large update, patches come in the following days to rectify the most common issues and indeed they did.

What was so dramatic that made you seek a refund?

I consider myself pretty fair considering I own both Apple and Android. Mac and PC. What I have noticed mainly is that many apps have not been updated to the new higher resolutions for the 6 and 6 plus so there is a lot of scaling going on. Overall, Apple iOS has always felt a little more polished and more stable in my experience. It is also less user configurable without a jailbreak. Honestly, Android and iOS are at their best unlocked and open for the end user to decide how they want it configured. All my devices are either jailbroken or rooted when available. One thing I always hated on my Android devices is how it would not automatically compress a small video clip for being sent over email or text. Ridiculous. I would have to film in a supper low resolution.

Not sure if I understand your issue thoroughly, I emailed a pic taken with S5 phone. It gave me a option to choose quality(size) of the attachment.

Videos not pictures. Check out send reduced if you want a great free app to compress pics over text or social media and such. Try taking a 20 second video in full resolution and try to text the video to someone... The iPhone automatically compresses the video so it can be sent over email or text or social media. Very convenient.

What put me over the edge was my Saturday night with Siri. I was using that new “hey Siri” feature with the phone connected to power and for the first 2 times it worked fine. But after that the phone freaked out. It would sit there for a minute and then all of a sudden you see just a bunch of random words pop up at the top of the display. Phone just became unresponsive.

Good for you my friend! Enjoy your buggy OS. I left Android 3 years ago when I purchased my first ever iOS device (which was the 4S) and I never looked back. I've owned 3 android handsets as well as a android tablet in the past and they pale in comparison to the stability and ease of use that iOS offers. There are 3 iPhones, 3 iPads, and 2 Apple TVs in my household and I couldn't be happier. I just got a 64GB 6 Minus for my wife and my 128GB 6 Plus should arrive on Thursday.
I have no desire to give Android a second look anytime in the near future and this is coming from a guy who used to tease the "Apple Fanboys" until I actually purchased a iPhone myself and got to experience first hand what all the hype was about.

Well that's just a lie. Buggy OS? Not since long ago. It doesn't have the continuous flow that iOS has, but it's in NO way buggy. Don't spread such BS. I've had iPhones for 6 years, starting with 3GS and ending with the iPhone 5. Now I have a Note 3 and it's more fluid in some places and less in others. I am very sensitive to lag and the Note 3 has as much lag as my iPhones had.

To each their own my good friend!:) I'm happy that you love Android so much. Continue to use it if you are satisfied with its performance. I was not so i moved on to greener pastures and I'm happier on iOS.
I'm merely sharing "my" experience on Android. Has it improved since i last used it? Maybe, but the damage has been done as far as I'm concerned. I have no reason to lie about the bugs associated with Android.
Please try not to get so emotionally charged by someone merely sharing their experience with a product just because that said experience was different from yours. Let's all respect one another's opinions my friend even if we don't agree. Enjoy your Android device. I will definitely enjoy my iPhone.

My history is from iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S then to Note 1,2, S4, S5, Note 3 then iPhone 6. I went back to the iPhone cause they finally got a bigger screen but I found the OS still just as boring as it was when I left. Nothing changed but the flat pastel colors and icons.

So far I have been disappointed with the iPhone 6.

1. The low res screen sucks compared to a 1080p screen.
2. Still no real widgets
3. Dealing with iTunes in windows is very frustrating.

So I'm gonna sell the IP6 and get the new Note 4 when it comes out.

Back to the drawing board Apple. Maybe in another 2-3 years if you make the above changes.
