I think the OP is confusing 'charging issues' with battery problems.

No, the title specifically says "low battery quality". Pulled a pretty successful straw-man out of the hat, considering we're on page 2.

I don't get what all the charging issues are about, Apple provided a Wall Adapter for charging in every box, PCs don't provide enough power.

I can just imaging Steve Jobs replying to an e-mail "It's not a big deal, just plug it in the wall"

The battery performance is a stellar surprise, imagine something lasting LONGER than the stated specs.

Is it that hard to plug it in the wall?
Apple supplies each unit with the correct charger.

Is that supposed to disprove my post or something? I don't understand what you were trying to accomplish with your reply to me. Your reply doesn't make my post any less relevant. I said I think the OP might be thinking the news about about charging issues means battery problems. Seriously, learn how to follow the context of a discussion. It is a basic language skill.

right, but i don't see what that has to do with my question.
they've never announced a battery device swap for any other product,
and then the ipad has a large amount of battery issues on release.

The iPad has battery issues? If by issues you mean people are reporting real life battery times to be better than expected, then yes, that's a problem.

The problem with this thread isn't the query - but that it appears on a site heavily googled. Now people - who are researching the iPad will see a thread title like this and get concerned there IS a battery issue.

The thread raises doubt that needn't be raised. It's sensationalistic thread title writing. Not to mention it's a leading question.

As in "Mr. Jones - Do you beat your wife often?"

A yes answer is bad. A no answer implies that Mr. Jone beats his wife - even a little. There's no answer that can be given which doesn't make the party "guitly"

Deep breaths.

I thought you meant the OP had posted intending a discussion about the charging issues. I was concluding that, since he said 'battery quality' he had fully intended people to take it that way. The straw man comment was in reference to the fact that he appeared to have successfully gotten people to argue about an issue that doesn't actually exist. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Soapbox

Yeap spoke with SJ the other day about the battery issue. 10 hours on avgerage is just not enough. Hell I want the battery to last at least a month before I have to plug it in again. Also want to be able to plug in periphials on a USB connector and print to my printer in bof..... Eygypt.

People it is a new category which is suppose to make your reading, surfing the net a more enjoyable experience. Watch movies, check your email and enjoy the porno pics of who knows who. Been out only 4 days. Same junk when the iPhone came out, do you all work for MS by chance?

Do any of you research these petty bytches on the apple site instead of bringing up this ridiculous nonsense here?

Oh, BTW Steve, when do we get a bigger screen?

Where are you hearing about a "large amount of battery issues"? I haven't heard of widespread issues, and mostly I've heard rave reviews of how long the battery lasts.

+1 Yet another troll thread on macrumors.

Not to mention the reason apple is getting these long battery lives is because they have non-user replaceable batteries (look at the macbook pro line). Not to mention getting a new iPad would be awesome.

+1 to this as well. Most people don't realize not all computers are created equally, and just because a USB port is supposed to provide such and such power doesn't mean it does. There are far to many variables to get into here but most likely the people having the problem are older laptops mostly, and probably people using front side usb ports on older desktops, or people with cheaper built computers.

Took a flight yesterday. Watched almost four hours of video on my iPad. Got to the hotel and had 75% of my battery left. I'd say that's amazing.

Wow, that is epic!

My MBP can barely do this, usually I am down to 20-25% by the time I take a 4-5h flight and watch movies and do work.

I agree the post is very misleading and hope people don't blindly read the post title assume there is a battery problem

As to the answering the question, "Mr. Jones - Do you beat your wife often?" The answer that doesn't make you look guilty is, "No, I have never beaten my wife."

Just answer yes or no please, Mr. Jones ;)

I know what the answer was - I was just making a point...

Speaking of that...anyone notice the HP Slate has a "non-user replaceable battery" listed on the specs? hahahaha...Oh...where are the PC Trolls on that issue?

my battery life is amazing to say the least. sorry to hear you are having problems with yours, you are in the great minority.

I guess there won't be anyone saying they'll be glad to carry two batteries to reach the battery life of the iPad.
