Looking forward to see how Apple develops an app for Android seeing as they're known for their polish and Lollipop having so much artistic flexibility.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I thought they only announced this new Apple Music service and not iTunes per se? I'll be checking it out though probably, but I feel in the UK we will be charged £10 or something which I think is overpriced, that's more than Netflix.

Correct. iTunes is not coming to Android, only Apple Music is.

Spotify Premium is £10 a month, so they'll probably parallel that. Stupid exchange rate screws us over....

Wait... so basically I can buy my iTunes music and then have it loaded onto my Galaxy S5?

You can do that already.. Just you have to sync with Kies or iSyncr on a computer and purchased content can be loaded onto your android device.

Apple Music may give you access to your purchased music directly in the app however - meaning you won't have to transfer via computer. However if it's like Google Play Mysic that will come with limitations means that it's only available inside that particular app whereas if you transferred it to your device via computer it would be available to all music apps on your device.

Happy with google music personally.
Yeah me too.

I have a free spotify sub included with my phone tariff that I let a relative use and I have a GPM sub.

Can't see myself switching to it unless it provides better service . Must admit Google Play Music app on android can get itself confused now and then (bit buggy) but otherwise I'm very happy and I'm grandfathered into the cheaper monthly premium, so yeah it will take something big to make me consider switching. I will try the service out though - the free three months makes trying it at least a no brainier for me.

Edit.. Actually if Apple support windows phone, it may give Google a push to finally release a few windows phone apps. Or that could just be my wishful thinking.

I checked the premium Spotify and the Google Music sub's in the UK and they are both at £10 so if Apple is the same or cheaper then they have a good chance of taking off here. I find £10 to be too much perhaps when compared to Netflix for instance. Guess it depends on how much you listen to music?
Still access to ApplesApples entire music library is a pretty tempting prospect I have to say.

My assumption is you will not get access to your iTunes music, an OS update will give access to Apple Music which will mimic Spotify.

Yeah you can do that with all music apps / devices with Bluetooth. I have a 2015 Nissan Leaf and can play my music from any device in the car via Bluetooth. It is indeed very handy :)

Apple store rep told me today you will be able to play Apple Music in the car via Bluetooth AND you will have access to your itunes music.

I will see if I get that same info online or at another Apple store.

Honestly puzzled by Apple's decision not to have an iTunes Android app. iTunes is a portal through which Apple sells content, so why cut themselves off from a huge market?

...adding, I understand that exclusive features/benefits attracting (entrapping) customers is a foundation of their business model, but just don't see iTunes as an elegant, must-have that falls into that category.
