seeing this post make me feel better...I'm disappointed that the macbook battery claimed to have up to 6 hours of battery life but in real life only around 3 hours..

I had a dell laptop before this macbook, the battery life claimed to be around 5 hours, and it DID last around 4--5 hours even after 2 years of used(never had to change screen brightness, wireless or bluetooth). I'm was very very disappointed to find out macbook battery life only last around 3 hours even I set it to "better battery life" and turned off the bluetooth, and they claimed to last up to 6 hrs. 3 hours and 6 hours, that's a big difference!!!

I feel downgraded from 5 hours battery life down to 3 hours now...

I did the battery update for my macbook and it didn't help at all. I installed it again and still the battery life is not enough to watch even a short movie. Note I have a macbook not a pro.

My HP ZD7000 and ZD8000 are both 17" desktop replacements the best battery life from either one is BARELY 60 mins. The 17" SR MBP lasted about 4.5 hours using e-mail and illustrator. I was really impressed then.

Six hours?? Thats a joke. With my display on full brightness and doing light web surfing, I get half that. I would hate to see how long it lasts with someone who uses their MBP for anything more intansive than that. I'm really dissapointed.
