unless you are absolutely pressed for cash(make sure to budget at most 100 quid for 4 gigs of ram) simply because the resale value will probably more than make up for the difference in a few years when you are ready to trade up for something better. That combo drive will be a resale value killer imo.

Meh, not everyone is focused on resale; For me, I run it into the ground, get what ever cash I can get from it in 2-3 years, then sell it, and take what ever money is offered.

Also, how good are the 2.0ghz for simple video editing? (obv minus the non-existent dvd burner probs...which can be overcome)
They’re very good for video editing full stop – and handles FCP rather well (before anyone says anything, although Final Cut Studio doesn’t officially support MBs, it does run nicely – do a search for more details…).

Video editing is a CPU intensive activity – so you would benefit from having more RAM (as dukeblue91 said),

RAM isnt really a problem...as i can always upgrade if i need more, its the processor that im worried about...is the 2.0 ghz significantly slower than the 2.2ghz MB? (i.e does leopard run perfect? cover flow, etc?)

good to know about FCP running ok on the MB though, thanks!

Do not be worried about that. Leopard runs fine on my 1.33ghz powerbook. Coverflow works smooth as silk. I'm not really sure how they do it...
