Actually, I prefer this over the Apple folio. They both cost $80, but the Otterbox case does more. I particularly like that flap that protects the Apple Pencil. As cool as the magnet system is, the pencil can still be easily knocked off and lost. So that extra bit of protection is a nice touch. The plastic back showing the Apple logo is also cool. Lastly, it protects the sides of the new iPad Pros which the Apple one doesn’t. Looks like a solid case to protect your very expensive iPad Pro.

Does the pen flap get in the way when you have the cover folded all the way back?

I think it is a very well made case. I think I will split time between it and the Apple folio. When around the house I like the Apple folio for it’s light weight. When I leave the house or travel for work I’ll definitely use the Otterbox. The extra protection will come in handy when going through security and while on the plane. The secure storage for the pen is just a bonus. If I could change a couple of things I would like to replace the hard back with the same material used on the sides, and some less drab colors options would be nice.

Gotta day that looks really good, might be getting one of those myself.

[Edit:] Just had a look on the UK site and they’re not on yet. Could anyone tell me what model it is please?

It’s on Apple Uk. Got mine yesterday and it’s great apart from the colour! Wish they had a black one!

This is definitely a great looking case. It seems to be functional (protection-wise) and looks great.
Thumbs up to Otterbox for making a slim design.

I like this case. I was looking at a magnetic case on Amazon that supported wireless charging for the Pencil, but still left a lot exposed for that accommodation.

This Otterbox design seems better for the fact that I can have the Pencil a little more protected from getting lost whenever I’m pulling it out of my travel backpack or tote.

Someone please post a video of their Otterbox closing, opening, folding, etc. Thanks! Because these photos don't do it justice.

How much heavier is the otterbox case vs the apple smart folio?

For 11-inch Folios:

Otterbox 360 Case: 0.65 lbs
Apple Smart Folio: 0.88 lbs*

* But take that with a grain of salt because nowhere is weight listed, not even on Apple's site, with the exception of Target.com [Direct Link]

I think it looks great and I reckon I’ll buy one. The only thing that bothers me is the pencil flap - great design, except what happens when you have the folio folded round the back of the iPad? I’m assuming it doesn’t fold as well and just flaps there. Also, hopefully the clear back won’t get any bubbles trapped underneath/start to look bad after a short time. Definitely looks the right kind of case for those who worry about bending! I reckon I’ll pick one up.

The flap is held in place with a magnet when the cover is folded behind the iPad. The back cover is hard polycarbonate so no bubbles but it will scratch.

I’m American in Japan and understood the Japanese review video, thanks for that!

This case looks great, only concern I’d have is every time I get something with a clear plastic back it scratches and shows.
