Do you use a still camera for video, or a camcorder? I use both but primarily a Canon Camcorder with a 64GB memory card as it has more capability and features over a still shot camera. My still shot cost me $400 before taxes, warranty, and memory card. My camcorder was a cheaper model costing me like $250 or $300 but its still quite capable and better than a camcorder that cost $700 back in 2001 which were all tape based. I am amazed at the quality of video my camcorder can produce.

I don’t take many videos but just use my phone. If I had to make a “good” video I’d is one of my real cameras

check out this link for "professional" video equipment ...
Edit: don't know why it pops up with the stupid title but the link works to the right site

Modern ILC's put a lot of emphasis on video, and they are often used by vloggers. Panasonic's last ILC was aimed directly at vloggers, in fact. That said, I typically just use my iPhone for video, with a rare exception of using my ILC to take nature videos only made possible via a long-zoom lens.

Sony sells one that cost $1000 or so.
Close. I don't know that you would ever use this much power though.
I'd rather use a full frame sensor camera though.

At this point I would move to a cinema camera if I was doing serious video work.

Of course one could have the ultimate experience of using a Sony Xperia I II ($1,098.00) smartphone with camera-like features and functionality as an external monitor with Sony's new flagship Alpha 1 interchangeable lens mirrorless camera ($6500.00)....... :D

I’m willing to bet both my Nikon Z6ii and Z6 outperform a $1k camcorder, especially given I can swap lenses and control dof with different lenses.

The Z6ii and Z6, hell most cameras released in the last 5 years can do 4K. Camcorders died with VHS surely? :)

Full HD for $1000? nah, 4K on a Z6 or any of the myriad of other cameras are plenty better than that and that is horridly ugly to drag around. For serious video, surely you would go with a Red or BlackMagic or Canon C200 or that ilk?

That looks like an RX100 in body armour.... ha ha ha 😂 That is not even crappy GoPro specs.....

I would probably go with an Arri. And $20,000.

I use my still cameras mainly in 4K Cine mode. More than shooting stills these days. I like street/documentary work.

Do you mind translating your second sentence please? For the life of me I just can’t understand your words...

I’d shoot video on my Z6ii or Z6 if I needed a higher quality video. 🙂

(I see I mistyped the word “use” as “is” rendering the sentence incoherent.)

Didn't realise you had the mk1 and mk2 Z6. Apart from the extra SD card (which would be a must for me), notice much difference between them?
