Only had it a few days but the build quality is excellent. The screen is as good as the iMac, albeit a lot smaller ;) and the phone feels as well made as the iPhone. network reception is better than my iPhone 5. It has its quirks as do all systems, and will have to see if they update android if KK.The phone has only been on the market for less than a month.

Yes it does.

Like the above poster said, the update to 4.4 will depend on when MDTK releases the drivers for it. Glad the experience has been positive though.

So far the only app i have not been able to replace is the one for my Lark sleep monitor. Airplay works and also video streaming to my ATV. That was a surprise.

Using Doubletwist to sync itunes music across, its a bit buggy, but it (mostly) works, as does the Airsync feature. Playlists, although transferred across don't sow up, just the contents. Weird.

Pleased to see there is a graphical SecondLife client, something that doesn't exist on iOs.

Funny thing with it I don't understand, it has supposedly a 13MP back and 8MP front camera, but the pictures dimensions suggest 18MP and 13MP respectivly. Quality is good anyway.

Battery life is getting better, and certainly better than my iPhone 5.

I strongly recommend stretching your budget to get a moto g or look for used devices. All the new phones priced below the moto g are flat out crap.

How's performance?

There are a ton of very cheap options but they are usually sold in Asia.

I just saw Gionee (Indian brand) release an M2 that sports a 4200 mAh battery for about $177. That is half the price of the Lenovo P780 with 4000 mAh battery. But specs aren't great unless you can live with lower res on a 5-inch screen.

If you can import, there are many options although many brands are still obscure to most folks in the US which might know 7-8 different brands. If you want respectable specs, stick to a Moto G. I'm hoping Sony's Xperia G can compete with the Moto G in price range. Phones under $200 or low end models with 4000 mAh shouldn't be to rare to see this year.

I'm hoping to see a good, mid-high end 3.5" device, sadly most of the mainstream manufacturers don't seem to do this though Sony have taken a step in the right direction with the Xperia Z1 Mini. Would love to see a nice, compact 3.5" version with similar specs! That size/form factor is just right for me for mobile usage but the nearest phone I can find is the Samsung Galaxy Fame - which has decidedly low-end specs :(

Not sure how much I'd trust an unknown far-east manufacturer - limited support and probably won't get any official Android updates.

Xiaomi hongmi (redmi). For $130 you get a quad core CPU, powerVR gpu, 4.7 IPS display, dual SIM, 8MP f2.2 camera..... And personally I find MIUI to be better than touch wiz and even stock android.
