We'll see

I will see how it goes when this company looks at my screen. My warranty runs out in August, so I'm not too happy with the prospect of having to pay for applecare, when this could be a defect. I've heard from Applecare that Apple Corp. needs to hear about a lot defects before they will perform a recall or consider this a chronic problem.

imac 24 dirt in glass panel

 I just got a F%#&!@! imac 24...YESTERDAY and I have a two little dirt balls in the inside of my panel. I'm wondering what to do too!

there seems to be dust trapped between the actual LCD screen and the outer glass pannel. Does this happen to everyone or is my mac bunk? and if this is normal am i going to have to pay to have it taken apart and cleaned every 2 months?

Honestly, if you have a current gen imac (with the glass pane) - it's probably a LOT easier to clean it yourself. I mean what's more troublesome? Driving to the apple store after unhooking your computer and packing it in the box. Or grabbing a suction cup and a can of compressed air (or a soft cloth) and taking 3 minutes to DIY.

If you consider the risks vs rewards (danger of transit / defect with the replacement / time without your computer) - and you won't be voiding the warranty or anything.

Dont do it yourself

You should call Apple before you attempt to clean your screen, as this will most likely void your warranty. You can make an appointment to go and get it fixed at an Apple or Apple approved store.

How would that void your warranty? They would never know you took off the glass. It's held on by magnets.
