It is obvious Apple is all about the mobile market these days, the only Apple product ive got left is my MBA as Apple laptops are still class leading. Its a shame because i would love to run OSX on all my machines but what can you do. TBH Windows 10 is better then OSX in alot of areas so that makes things a bit easier.

You said developers need new hardware to develop on. How are we going to develop VR for Mac's that currently don't support it? The market is not mature enough, let alone on the Mac platform for VR.

Please don't tell me about my market, because you don't know what it is, never mind whether it mature. Anyway, I understand your confusion - I'm not talking about creating a Mac app, but a complete VR system for client, including the hardware. As you observe Macs can't do it as well as Windows PC, and in addition our content creation tools are falling behind on the Mac platform. If our software vendors are to be believed, slow uptake of the nMP along with GPU driver problems make it unprofitable for them to support. So, as per my initial point, I do expect a developer conference keynote to touch on hardware, becuase developers are interested in hardware, they do need new hardware to embrace new opportunities, and new hardware is years overdue.

Am I astounded they didn't announce anything? No, they rarely announce hardware at WWDC, but I do think the gulf between Mac and PC performance is bigger than it's ever been in my 10 yr experience with Macs, and for Apple to let yet another event pass with doing something about it is disappointing, if not alarming.

I can't believe they rented the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for this. This will go down in Apple history as the most fluff filled WWDC ever.

What I find amusing are all the high-level Apple execs wearing blue jeans and pullovers. Does anybody think they really dress like that?

Tell me again why I should care what the Apple execs wear - either on stage or every day.

I am not asking you to care. The blue-jeans-and-dark-pullover at Apple is like the Mao suit in China or the Nehru jacket in India. It is a way of showing solidarity with a famous leader. And since the elites at Apple wear it to these marketing events, Apple must feel it necessary to project a certain image of the company which I guess most of us feel is not really governing their decisions.

Hi all,

For those who were hoping for (even a small mention) of hardware updates, it was a disappointing WWDC. I was hoping for some news about a Mac Pro update....but nothing. =(

Anyways, I'm not sure how long I'll keep waiting. I'm very tempted to just go get a Windows machine.

It was all toys.
Although admittedly I only got as far as the "joke" about Mini Mouse's pants and scanned through from there.
Wasn't sitting through that rubbish.
No pro equipment at all as far as I can see.
