I just got one too, although I ordered it a few weeks ago when I got an email saying they were in stock. I’d completely forgotten all about these, but figured I’d give it a go.

So far, so good. I actually like the weight as I wanted something I could toss in my bag during the day without adding any extra weight. Personally though, I’d much prefer to have a smaller battery or no battery at all, or at least the option for that, than have it be so thick.

Anyway...All I really wanted was a way to just charge my Apple Watch using the one hundred million lightning cables I already have plugged in around the house. I get why they can’t use lightning but still... So what I did was just plug one of the many micro USB to lightning adapters I have lying around that I got on Amazon into the Diskus, and voila. I now have a easy way to charge my watch without having to unplug another cable or have a cable always plugged in that’s only used for one device, my watch. The adapter stays in pretty tightly. It is surely awkward looking and of course I do run the risk that it’ll break that way but for now, it makes charging the watch so much more convenient.

It’s still surprising to me that there are really no lightning to Apple Watch chargers on the market at all, even sketchy non mFi ones, but oh well. This should work for now!

Yeah, lightning would sure be nicer than that micro USB

While it’s ridiculously expensive for what it is, Apple’s Watch charging dock is a lightning to Apple Watch charger.

You know, I completely forgot all about that. Do you have one? If so, is it heavy or awkward to carry around? Ideally I’d like something that I can toss in my bag without adding extra weight as well as use around the house...

I do have one & I like it. I got it for the exact reason that it has a lightning adapter on it, so I can plug it into any of the million lighting cables I have everywhere. It's definitely got some heft to it (subjectively, it seems to weight somewhere in the neighborhood of what my iPhone SE weighs- this was just by picking up the two and holding them in opposite hands, I could be way off on the actual weight), but the weight is evenly distributed through out the disk, it folds flat & is not hard to carry around at all.

The top is made out of white leather (I think, at least it feels like it) so if you are carrying it around a lot, it may pick up scratches or stains). I use it at home on my nightstand, but do take it when I travel, and so far no issues/ scratches, etc.

I have both, and I love the Apple charging dock

For anyone still interested, I have found an Apple Watch charging adapter that has a Lightning input. Here is the link: https://smile.amazon.com/Smartwatch-Charger-iWatch-Portable-Pocket/dp/B07M9R34MR

The reviews aren’t great for some reason but I’ve been using two of them for a couple months now and they’ve been working perfectly for me. I pulled the keychains off, since I didn’t want the extra stuff hanging off them, but they didn’t seem like they were attached very strongly anyway. So if you really want an attached keychain, that might be an issue. Otherwise they function great and are small enough to be truly portable.

Thanks for the heads up! That would be great for when I travel. Can I ask which color you got? I wonder if one color is more problematic that the other. I don't much care which color I get, but would love to have the functionality.

Mine are silver and black. Good luck if you do get one! I’m probably going to grab a few more just to have around the house.

Thanks! I'll give the silver one a try. I have the official apple disk & it works great, but this would be even more compact & perfect for travel. Thanks again for sharing the link.
