A response came pretty quickly:
"A few minor updates to version 5 have been provided free of charge to all existing DIskWarrior 5 customers. The latest release, version 5.3.1, is an integral part of DIskWarrior 6, including support for Apple Silicon Processors. The program is undergoing a complete rewrite.
Currently, I am not aware of an available program that can repair APFS formatted drives. You can reach out to technical support for the most current information and suggestions regarding your APFS drives. They can be reached at tech.support@alsoft.com or by calling 281-358-1510.
The current version can be used on APFS formatted drives to repair compatible external drives. Additionally, you can use DiskWarrior to copy files from a failing APFS drive using our Preview tool. DiskWarrior 5.3.1 can also rebuild any HFS+ formatted external drives and SparseBundles/Images including Time Machine backups.
We value you as a customer and appreciate your dedication to our software. It is our shared interest to engineer an APFS compatible version of the software for our customers."
