Amazing job. It would be cool to walk around with an iPhone with everything removed from the back. Makes it one of a kind.

Has anyone tried polishing without sanding? I have some scratches that look more like smears caused by a slider incase and was wondering what kind of results came from just using 3m polish and car wax.

I was just reminiscing to myself about when the iPhone forum was actually great... This is an example. Decided people need to see this (so yes, I did notice the original posting date).

Ha! I wonder how the new finish on the 3G holds up relative to new kid Scratchy McScratchmagnet? ;)

Unrelated: I was messing around with a friend's 3GS the other day and was immediately shocked by how nice that thing felt to hold in my hand. I've been using a 5/5S/6S in various 'states of undress' over the past few years and had forgotten how nice the 3G was to hold. I know, I know, bigger screens blah blah blah, but this was a poignant reminder of the way in which Jobs viewed the importance of ergonomics in user experience, and how (sadly) far away from that things have come in the past several years.

Which, I suppose, makes it doubly cool that a 3G can still be useable 6-7 years later.
