Since it can be attached to the iPad I use it all the time now. Previously it always seemed to be the other side of the room when I wanted it.

That's interesting!

I actually have no issues using my Apple pencil (first gen) but then again the pencil was a big reason on why I bought the iPad. I am not an artist either, but I really wanted it for taking notes during meetings, annotating files and do all sort of brainstorming and mindmaps at work. I have an Apple pencil case that has a stand as well so the pencil is always on my desk at work and it's always available to me if I want to do something.

I am trying to get a picture of me writing with it. It does make the pencil easier to write in "any" app.

Sounds like a cool concept. I have not checked the options in App Store when it comes to such type of keyboards.

the problem is,... there is no handwriting keyboards available now. this one was removed , they do have a full note taking app instead. I wish they would have kept the keyboard alive. I am a former Samsung note user, Android has several handwring Keyboards. So when I bought my 1st IPP with pencil , I got an iOS one.

Ah I see. Any idea why they removed this sort of keyboard?

I mainly use the iPad for browsing the web and movies and I barely play any games. Does any consumption user actually find the Pencil useful? I ask simply because I purchased a used iPad Pro bundle off eBay and found that I can reduce my cost by reselling the Pencil for around $40. There is a certain appeal that I got the Pencil for pennies on the dollar through the bundle but not sure if I'll be making "excuses" just to use it (like taking notes which I prefer doing with pen and paper).
I find it very useful as a stylus.

I use the pencil for games (quickly tapping on small icons and such is nice with the pencil), and Photo/Video editing apps. It's a nice to have but not necessary - unless you draw/color on your iPad you can pretty much always get away without the pencil in in my experience. It's more of a luxury and pretty grossly overpriced, but if you can swing it, it's nice to have even for a more casual user.

You can't swipe up or use gestures with the pencil which is pretty ridiculous, but that's Apple for you haha.

If you literally just consume content and surf the web, I probably wouldn't bother though.

Of course! You can use it for anything you also use your finger for. The only thing I have found that it doesn't work on as a mouse, is swiping the bar up that has replaced the Home Button. A "feature" Apple could probably change with software if they wanted too.
It seems like the sensible thing here would be for Apple to make the pencil work to swipe up, but give apps the option to turn off that functionality. So then you can draw all the way to the edge in Procreate (for example) but be able to swipe up with the pencil when watching Netflix.

I like it for Photoshop Sketch and another Photoshop App that right now I can't remember the name. I find it easier to using than my stupid finger. I also use on Peanuts: Snoopy's Town Tale instead of my finger, for it makes me think before act. :D

I agree and I hope you guys are sending in a feedback to Apple about this.

When I got the 9.7 Pro, I got the pencil thinking I’d probably never use it (my roommate NEVER uses hers). It has changed my life at work. I use Notes Plus (the best note taking app) and it’s changed my work life. I take it to all internal meetings and use it as a note pad on my desk. No more pieces of paper every where. I only wish I had this when I was a college student.

I've also started taking notes at work with it and it's been pretty amazing really. Just having all my information sorted into folders and topics makes it so much easier to go back and find what I'm looking for. I've always used a notebook and you just have to keep flipping till you find something so this has been a bit of a revelation for me and it's all effortless I can get a note open and ready to go really quickly in the appropriate folder with the date stamped on the file name it's been really cool and not something I really saw myself using it for at first.
