You need to enter it in the field that says 'FBGA Code'. Apple's Micron RAM chips often don't have the Micron logo and two lines of text as Micron chips made for other customers, so it might not be obvious at first.
The extra 4GB of RAM could do wonders to app management. Apps and Safari tabs could stay in the memory longer without reloading.
I have both M4 iPads. A 1TB Cellular and 256GB Wifi. The 256GB model with 8GB RAM is noticeably poor in keeping Safari tabs and apps unrefreshed state for more than a day.
I was hoping that iPadOS 18 would unleash those 12GB of physical RAM, to make extra room for the needed memory for Apple Intelligence while respecting the current 8GB for the system…
