Wouldn't these skins affecting cooling?
I always thought the aluminium design also acts as a heatsink - so the skin is providing an added (albeit very small) level of insulation?

I'm using Skins on my macbook for the past couple of months. No heating issues was found on my macbook.
As far as i know, None of the 3M quality skins affects cooling. I came across an article that 3M skins having small minute pores to emits heat of any other devices.

I bought a black UESWILL smooth soft-touch matte hard case cover for my 15" 2015 MacBook Pro and it is amazing. Paid 16 USD for it. It offers excellent grip and I really like the black colour. It still allows the Apple logo to shine through and my MacBook Pro looks just gorgeous in black. The feet allow very little slippage, which is a bonus on a glass surface. It just gets dirty very quickly, and anything on your hands will leave a mark, but a damp cloth cleans it perfectly.

Two other advantages to skins not mentioned is that it's easier to figure who's macbook is who's - sometimes an issue in a household where everyone owns the same macboook. More important to me is that skins make laptops just a bit less slippery, although I wish there were more skins that use materials specifically designed to reduce slipperiness. BTW, I've purchased all my skins from DBrand and found them to be outstanding, both product and customer service.

Upstate NY . Was FL.
I don’t understand how a skin wouldn’t effect cooling. Imagine wrapping cling film around your body. I’m sure it gets hot and sweaty.
Also whilst on the subject of skins. Anyone removed their skin after let’s say one year. How much residue was left behind ?

Any updated experiences with d brand or other skins in 2022? Currently using a 13 inch mbp and thinking of grabbing the leather skin…
