Do teenagers in your area say LOL

Sometimes, not too much. If I ever hear it I'll call them out on it..its pretty stupid to say it out loud.

No. Never. I know a couple of super-geek kids I could imagine saying it, but never in real life. It's too geek-speak, not cool at all.

So let me get this straight:

Teenagers today are too lazy to laugh, so then they just say LOL?

Sort of. I'm not sure if it's just being lazy, but rather a combination of being lazy and being so immersed into the digital world-- losing touch w/ the tangible, physical world.

Plus, the area of NorCal I'm from, the high schools are a bit odd in that the "cool" kids are the ones that get straight As and are enrolled in all the AP courses, as in, the geeks are the cool kids.

This guy in my spanish class a few years ago actually said "LOL" and would say "JK! JK!"

Fortunately, I've never heard people say "LOL" seriously. I've heard it said jokingly amongst geeks.
