Yes and yes. I am not saying I don't use my laptop, just that there are frequently times when I would have pulled out my laptop to google something or check a score or email but now my first reach is for my iPhone. Some nights I don't even take my laptop out of its bag. There are also places and times where in the past I would have toted my laptop with but now can rely on my iPhone to keep me connected.

^^ This

Will it ever replace my laptop? Probably not as i still have to type up docs on flights, review power points, watch movies on a bigger screen, and the storage and portability to bring my desktop stuff with me. It will however keep me from toting my laptop everywhere like the library, a friends house, or vacation trips. :)

I don't believe you "no" people.

Before my iPhone I used to get home at the end of the day and spend 10 minutes erasing e-mails that didn't need a reply. You know, quick notes from friends, mailing list stuff, and the odd bit of spam here and there.

Now, I erase those things throughout the day on my phone as I get them. So that's 10 minutes saved right there.

You're all telling me that's not the case for you guys?

ok, yes.. I suppose so..

but I still jump on my laptop for a quick view of what's going on. might just be habit.

I use my laptop more since I've resisted getting an iphone. I can buy
a new laptop for "free" every few years from the savings of not paying for that darn phone lol.

Yes, but only when I travel for me, who needs a MBP to check email and surf the web, my iPhone does all that

I tend to not use Facebook while on my computer. I always check it through my phone. haha

But as far as not going on the computer anymore, no I still do daily.

Nope.

But I do find that I use my iPhone less since I got a MBP. The experience is so much more enjoyable.

Yes, I can actually go to lunch now without taking my laptop with me. Throughout the day I can check things that previously would have needed a computer.

Yes, every now and then I'll grab my iPhone and browse for something rather than using a computer if it's more convenient.

I don't use my laptop less, I just go online more. But I did go on vacation for a week to LA recently and decided not to bring the MBP. At first, I thought I would go mad but it was really just fine since I had my iPhone. I have to say, it was a nice break. And yes, going through security was MUCH easier. Lol. I'll probably be leaving the laptop at home more often when I travel for personal reasons.

No. Never. While having the full* Internet in your pocket is amazing and very useful on the go, for me it can't fully fulfill my needs.

No. I need a laptop on the go for work and my 3GS cannot do everything my Mac can do.

That is true, yes, but email is far from the only thing I use my laptop for.

OK, I guess I should've clarified--the email thing doesn't affect my laptop usage because I moved from a BB Curve to a Bold (9000) to the iPhone, so I've been dealing with email in realtime for something like a year and a half.

About the only thing I normally use my iPhone for that could also be accomplished on my laptop is Twitter. So I guess in that respect I use it a teeny bit less than I used to. :)

I rarely even use my home computer now since I have my iPhone. I'm on a computer all day at work and the iPhone works just fine for the little google searches, sports scores, and email usage I would normally use my home computer for anyways. I can't believe the majority of you use your home computer just as much as before.

The only reason I would choose iphone > laptop is because im only googling something simple and dont want to go through the hassle of getting my laptop out.

Yes, and Yes. I definitely find myself using my iPhone instead of my MBP quite frequently. I am typing this on my MBP, however.

I do for short blog posts, checking e-mail or shopping...but for my $$$ making work it is always the laptop. Gotta have that full size keyboard.

It's maybe 'cause in the 2 months between the PC breaking and buying a mac mini my parents just used her iPod Touch for internet, but she's got an annoying habit even now of choosing to use the touch over the mac for web browsing.

Why's this annoying? It's just not as practical. For example: yesterday she was insistent that the job advert she'd found was different from the one I'd applied for. I had to go through her history and hit every link for every job she'd looked at in the past day. Took forever. On the mac I could have just searched the history.
