Stock 6 core here... (16GB ram and D500's)

I love it. Now cutting a job with 9 multi cams on FCPX, and its a walk in the park for this machine. Color correction, and rendering are seamless, and QUICK!

Dumping a 9 minute cut to QT file, used to be 25-28 minutes on a 2009 dual 2.26, is now around 10 minutes. If that doesn't say enough, I don't know what does. Although the fast drives don't hurt!!!

Its infinitely more quiet, uses way less energy, and (at least I think)- more easily expandable via thunderbolt (although certainly WAY more expensive)

Hex/D700's.

I freaking love it. Best computer I've ever bought. It's so small and silent I forget its there, and I can't even remotely use all it's power. Powerful, yet still sips electricy like you wouldn't believe.

I am loving the form factor a lot more than I thought I could. It looks like, nothing really, yet I stare at it.

The thermal core also continues to impress.

As far as tapping its power, I've done a good job of keeping the CPUs pegged since I got it. It's on another render as I type this. Even with Cinema 4d using 1186% of the CPU, I can still web surf fairly well. Very nice.

4 core, 16GB RAM and 512GB HD. D300s. LOve it

Intensive LR5 and PS CS6 CC. with large files. Love this machine.... REALLY!:D

I don't own one, but have access to. It's an 8-core, 32 GB, D500 machine and I'm doing some 3D product visualizations with it in modo. Loving it.

Simple really. Are you one of the lucky few who have one of the new Mac Pros? Are you happy with your purchase? What do you like about it now that you have it?

I like the silence, the quick boot, the shape, the lack of noticeable heath and the little place it takes on my desk.
Since TB is for the time being not affordable for me I would like more USB ports but I use powered USB hubs and from time to time change a cable from one external device to another, not a big deal :D
All together it is by far the best computer I ever had!

I absolutely love mine for music production. Big step up from my old 2010 MacBook Pro. An absolute dream to work on.

I've had mine for about two weeks now, and I'm quite satisfied.

I'm a software engineer by trade (network and cloud computing), and have two main hobbies: Photography, and DJ'ing/Electronic Music Production.

My previous setup was a Macbook Pro Retina (late-2013, loaded), which I was using primarily as a desktop with two Thunderbolt displays. My other system was a late-2011 Macbook Pro, which was being used for DJ'ing and laptop uses, and I also had a mid-2011 Mac Mini which was running some server duties.

I was kind of getting sick of using the Macbook Pro in clamshell mode on my desktop, and although I had originally thought having two laptops would be more "flexible", I really never needed to have two laptops (plus, upgrading laptops gets expensive).

Since I already had the two monitors, and always wanted a Mac Pro (more so now that the new one is so much smaller), I decided to bite the bullet.

I sold my late-2011 MBP, and the Mac Mini, and a few underused Canon L lenses, and bought a beast of a machine: Mac Pro, 8C, 32GB RAM, D700's.

What can I say about it: It's fast, very fast.

My late-2013 MBP Retina (which I kept), is also super fast, with it's PCIe storage and an i7, but the Mac Pro is obviously just that much faster. I can spin up VM's on the Mac Pro and it does't even hickup.

For my photography, I'm looking forward to when the software catches up a bit and takes advantage of the GPU's. Occasionally I shoot panoramics, and render times should go way down as well.

So overall, very happy. There was some guilt spending over $6k on a computer, though.
