I'm wondering - is anyone else like me and keeps the boxes their Apple stuff comes in? I know several people throw them out without a thought, but the damn things are so nice, I just keep them. The boxes to my Mini, Apple keyboard and iPod Shuffle are sitting on a shelf and are like new.

I do too!

I only recently got rid of my PowerMac 7500 box, it'd fallen apart.

Uhm, I believe the answer is HECK YEA!

I even brought two iBook clamshell boxes out of the heavy trash.
Why?
I dunno--it's a sickness!

I think I remember seeing a thread like this a while back, and yes I do keep my Apple boxes. I still have the boxes for my 5G iPod, Universal Dock, and In-Ear Headphones. :D

I once saw a documentry of some guy who made his furniture out of apple boxes:eek: he had a bed, couch even a Duvet all made outta old apple boxes, how cool is that!? I have no place to keep my new iMac box so it resides right in the middle od my room. It's quite an attraction:D

Are we there yet?
But - I might need it later!!! I do have lots of original boxes, stashed away in the basement. The next move though, they become recycled - probably - well maybe.

I do, we still have the original boxes at my house in near mint (and mint for the printer) condition of our old Performa (which the computer/printer themselves and every piece of paperwork is included with them). They were kept originally just in case of an issue then never discarded. My mom tried to toss it this summer but i fought her on it because of the quality and they are now sitting in our basement waiting... for what i don't know :p

I've kept my first gen. iPod nano box, and I KNOW I will be keeping my Macbook C2D box.

The wait until I can get it is really getting to me.

I feel like a druggie without any crack. :p

I have the box for my 4th gen iPod, 5th gen iPod, iMac, and PowerBook.

I am thinking of selling my 4th gen iPod box... think I'd get any money for it on eBay?

I do. With Mac stuff and camera stuff. It definitely does help with resale, although I would be lying if I said thats the only reason.

No, I simply don't have the space. We only have a small apartment and by the time we've found room for my diving equipment, bike stuff, musical instruments, clothes, the wine rack etc. there's only enough room for me, the boyfriend and the dog.

Seek help! ;) :p :D

I am just about as bad. Until just recently, I had the boxes for my HP-71 computer system which I purchased in 1985. Unfortunately, the boxes had finally deteriorated and had to be thrown out.

Yes it was a sad day for me. A very sad day...

Much to my wife's dismay, I keep the boxes for everything electronic it seems.

Generally, I keep all the boxes for everything electronic >$100-200 in value. The big exception are roadworthy items (PA speakers, rack gear and the like.) Yes I have a lot of boxes, but the thought of sending out a $3000 piece of gear for service in a box filled with peanuts and newspaper doesn't sit right with me. I would also never want to be one of the people who I've seen lugging their G5 into an Apple Store carrying it by the handles after removing it from their towel-padded passenger seat.

I keep the boxes for all my Apple kit.

a) because they're great boxes
b) because when I hand anything on the new owner will get the 'unpacking a mac' experience
c) in case they ever need to be returned :(

Mac since 7.5
I remember with vivid clarity the alarm and dismay I felt when, in trying to slide open the box of my 4G 60GB iPod, one edge tore about an inch. I sat there, unable to continue the ceremony for about 20 minutes. :(

I still have the box, aesthetically-challenged though it may be.

Arrrghh!
where did i land?
I tear of my boxes and keep the serial number if printed on the boxe and basta!
Last week i bought a mighty mouse wireless that didn't fit my bag... needless to say that the box left the store...

well now regarding that i'm outnumbered i should probably keep a low profile...
