This version is likely the only version in this year Apple can release to regain stability comment of Mac os X.
Currently something is going better, but not overall. In my experience, system responsiveness is not good. Random freeze and longer loading time impacts experience.
I appreciate magic mouse connectivity improvement because I don't need to explicitly click the mouse key to let system knows its presence.

I've been using the public beta for a few days and it's been alright. I was too lazy to do a clean install, so I've not been experiencing the profound boost in performance that was raved about when the first DP rolled out (I'm on a late-2011 15" MBP). Some things are clearly snappier -- system animations being the most obvious; but many other applications seem to have little improvement or actually appear to be taking a performance hit. Steam, for instance, takes much longer to open than it did, as does Safari. I have yet to really dig down deep, though, so maybe it will get better.
I'd reckon, for the most part, it's been a little more graceful than Yosemite, and certainly isn't worse (in my opinion, at least). I think my favorite aspect so far are the touch-ups that have been made to the UI. San Francisco is a nice system font (not so much on the desktop icon labels, though), and from what I've noticed Apple has finally gotten around to fixing the shenanigans that have plagued the "Arrange by Kind" setting in Finder's column view for as long as I can remember. Arrange by kind and sort by name finally stay together and they've made the labels separating the "kinds" look much nicer (they pin to the top of the viewport as you scroll, like similar lists do in iOS).

I love it, it's so much better performing and less buggy than Yosemite was on my 2010 iMac (and that's without a clean install).
It's an improvement over Yosemite, but I'm not quite to the "I love it!" stage yet. There are a couple annoying new features that can't be disabled in 10.11, and it still doesn't look or perform as well as Snow Leopard on my old 2008 MacBook Air. Ok, maybe that last bit is setting my standards too high 
i like the addition of iOS-style video airplay. i've been hoping for this for years. why it wasn't included in the first place confounds me!
i think i'm just not the target audience for the split screen multitasking though. I get it for people who have straightforward and relatively static workflows on their computer. But I am constantly jumping between a bajillion different things, and have little desire to try to manage specific pairings of applications in dedicated full-screen workspaces. i'll just literally put 2 windows side by side if i need that! (and utilities like better touch tool make it super fast to get a side-by-side split)
also its weird how it blurs the "inactive" app when resizing the dual-fullscreen split. a modern laptop can't redraw 2 windows at once. really?

My El Cap install went well and has been working well even though it was an upgrade not a fresh install like many people here suggest. Main reason for the upgrade being that I do a lot of virtual machine work and I didn't want to copy over ~400 GB worth of VMs. My only real complaint is that the darn thing keeps waking up at night and that shake to enlarge mouse messes with TF2. Love the overall improvements though though I wish there was some sort of toggle for the things like mouse enlargement. It's an improvement over Yosemite that's for sure, but this is coming from a person who approved of Yosemite in general.
I like El Capitan. It has a lot of features that Yosemite should have had, in my opinion. I think Apple is moving in the right direction security wise.

Yeah I like it and Windows 10. Apple and MS drops some of their crap experiments and brought back the best of the old stuff.
I'm finding it to be quite stable so far. I've had no crashes, however, one should still be cautious and consider not installing it on their main drive, but find some secondary computer or external drive to put it on. Or, at least have a good backup of your current, stable OS first.
Well, I do have a friend with windows 10, he said it sucked! So hard! Nothing worked.... Cortona isn't good.... One color.... Well, I don't know anything about it, but my friend said it.... :/
I've been running Windows 10 since the public beta in October and I quite like very well. One of their better releases in a long time.

I made a portion on my rMBP and just installed it a few minutes ago. So far it completely flies and feels less laggy than Yosemite. I've had some pretty annoying bugs with Yosemite; in fact, more than any OS X version I've ever used (I started with Panther). I love the new Mission Control setup as well... it's much cleaner than the previous few versions which started to get a bit bloated.
On site upgrade.
I don't have any additional space to install this in a secondary partition.
