I’m really happy that they made CC a separate thing. When it was bundeled with the app switcher you had to leave the app just to adjust the volume or brightness which was annoying.
This is really interesting, I hadn't thought about this issue. Good point. I guess given my uses (games, web browsing) the inconvenience of having to reach up to the top of the screen doesn't outweigh the leave the app issue, but I can see how it would be the other way.

Say you have this thread open in Safari on your iPad. You want open the iOS thread list from the breadcrumb links at the top of the page in a new tab. But the link that says iOS is too small so your option is to either click and hold to get the list to open in new tab or you place your fingers above and under the link like this:

(==== <-- finger
iOS
(====

Then tap with those fingers. The link between your fingers will open in a new tab.

I think how it technically works is that the software draws an area between the two touch points and whatever intersects that area is the desired link.
Aaaah.. but it works even if your second finger is at the side of the link.. pretty uncomfortable for me, but it’s a nice addition

The left/right swiping is much faster now. In 11, you had to wait a moment between swipes. Now it will keep up no matter how fast you swipe.
That is encouraging to hear. I found the delay frustrating in iOS 11.
When swiping between apps are you using the new 1 finger swipe up and accross left/right or the old 4 finger swipe left/right?
I wonder if both work flawlessly without delay?

Also what device are you using?

Thanks

Also I wonder if the delay has gone when swiping back a page in Safari?
Currently the page has to reload before you can interact with the page (scroll or swipe back another page).

I cannot wait to pull the toggles from the right corner and adjust sound and brightness without having to pull from the bottom up

Aside from the gestures, I am very very happy with iOS 12. I have it on both my iPhone and my iPad through the public beta program. Very fluid and stable. I think it even improved my battery a little too.

I’m having trouble adjusting to the new bottom of screen gestures. I keep flicking back to the home screen when I’m trying to bring up the app bar.

I like them, but there’s one which hasn’t been ported over from the iPhone X; Where you swipe up from the Multitasking screen to go back to the Home Screen (or whichever page of Apps you had in the background).

They should add it for symmetry’s sake.

Try to avoid ‘flicking’ up to access the Dock. Instead, drag up until it appears.

It's there, but it requires a 4 finger swipe up rather than a single one.

I like them. I have the 10.5 pro and itching to get the new onbe but i also got the Xs so i feel i moved on
