Do you plan to switch from iPhone to Android? (2016)

A for me, (Mac keyboard broken, I apologize), I've been entertaining the thought of getting an Android this year. Android is much more open, while Apple has unapologetically touted a "less is more philosophy", replacing the headphone jack with a dongle.

However, I am concerned about my data getting in the hands of a hacker or the government.

I like iphone 7 plus but it had been giving me hissing problem during recording. So, maybe. I might try note 8. If hissing problem goes away, I would stick with apple iphone.

I think the Hissing issue has turned quite a few people off, being its so random and it's unknown what devices have it.

I still have android devices thought - but not going to use any android phone as my primary phone until google does something to this issue.

At least those changes are transparent compared to many on Apple's store.

I have gone back and forth between android and IOS too many times, financially I finally came to my senses. I really like both. So now I have a Pixel XL with a Samsung Gear 2 and an IPhone 7 with a Apple Watch. Problem solved

I wanted to switch permanently to the Pixel XL but ended up returning it and sticking with the iPhone 7+. The Pixel is terrific hardware and if I only used an phone and no other tech (computers, tablets, smart watch, media devices, etc), I very well might still be using it but as part of my personal tech ecosystem, the iPhone ends up being a better fit. If that's ever going to change, Android Wear needs to improve dramatically and I'd prefer to have a high quality Chromebook tablet/hybrid to replace my iPad Pro/Mac laptop. In short, a Google hardware/software 'ecosystem' that rivals Apple's. Android may be more capable than iOS but Android Wear and Chrome OS can't replace the Apple Watch or Mac OS for me---yet.

I agree That's why I have a gear 2 the UI and the ring make it the best smart watch for me. Since I mostly use Google apps when I use my iPhone I don't miss the interoperability of I devices like in the past. I switch when I'm bored and everything is new again

I dislike Android Wear. Gave it a try twice.

Now I rotate between the iPhone 7+ with Series 2 AW ... and the LG V20 with Gear S2 Classic.

No more new tablets for me ..... A premium Chromebook is what I will get next.

I still love Mac OS as my main OS, not looking for a replacement. Although I still use Windows.

i went back to iphone 7 plus coz no other android in market that is worth getting...

tried google pixel xl... i liked it..

I am seriously considering it in 2017.

I will be eligible for a new phone in September 2017 and if the 7s is LCD only, then I might switch to the S8 or the Pixel...those are the two front-runners..

There's no reason to pay $750 for a iPhone and not have AMOLED in 2017. Not happening...no way and no how!

So yeah, if the 7s is not a new design and stays LCD, it may be time to try another phone.

Only disadvantage for me is I'm on Verizon (CDMA) and the OnePlus 3T and other good phones are not available for consideration. That blows.

No, I just switched back to iOS this year. I've been on android for several years and was wanting to get back because every time I got a fw update it broke something major such as Bluetooth this time. Got an iPhone 6S Plus and am liking it so far.

I did the opposite. I'm a big Android nerd and Nexus ROM guy. Having owned 15 Android flagships the past 5 yrs or so, and only two iPhone's. So I decided to give a Silver/White iPhone 7 Plus 128GB a try. Got it as part of my JoD upgrade on my T-Mobile plan.

My last phone was super tweaked Nexus 6P which I still own and like a lot. Just the battery life was do iffy on it. Sometimes great but most the time just good.

- Battey life on this 7 Plus truly is unbelievable like nothing I've owned before. Standby time is funny how good it is. And overall this thing can handle a whole solid day from early morning to late night used nonstop. My Nexus 6P wouldn't last half as long.

- Speakers are shockingly good on this 7 Plus. Very loud and crisp sound. Again much louder than my 6P and clearer

- Screen tech I thought would be a major downgrade on this 7 Plus but it's actually super good. Very realistic colors. Very bright outdoors.

- Juet waiting for the stable Jailbreak for 10.1.1 and I think I'll stick to this phone until the Pixel 2

All android devices I've used, come with a flaw that I don't want to live with. It will take time and effort to try different phones and finally find what android phone I would like. If it even exists.

This and the lack of optimization makes some apps feel clunky and some apps drain the battery life in an hour. It's not worth the hassle for me. That's why I turned back to the trusty iPhone and my next phone will probably be an iPhone as well.

I have switched from the iPhone 7 to the Google Pixel. It has been two weeks of shear pleasure (although there was a hint of withdrawal).
IMO Android has come a long way in the past few years.

Just switched from iphone 7 plus to pixel xl....im using pixel for a week now...
Still adjusting on the keyboard.
Iphone keyboard is more accurate on on my typing style....

I always use both - own an iPhone 7 and a Huawei P9 Lite. I mainly use the iPhone but enjoy the android occasionally.
