I really haven’t found anything magical about the OLEDs on my XSM and 11 Pro.

LCD (like my 11) would be just fine with the biggest possible battery for 5G, gaming, and tethering.

Oh and a round of 3x optical zoom for all. Ultra wide is just useless crap. I don’t take group pictures of 20+ people from 5 feet away.

Your post just made me remember... From a YT show I watched over the weekend, Prosser stated that ProMotion was either an ON or OFF feature with the way it is engineered to work. There won't be a way to toggle it on or off in software. Apple is looking at maybe reducing to 90Hz refresh if 120 is too taxing on the battery life, but again, if no success, then ProMotion will be out as a feature even though the hardware would be there.

Thought that was interesting to hear, but Apple still has some time to figure it all out since October is the release month at this point.
I thought one of the big thing about Pro Motion is that it can dynamically adjust its refresh rate depending on content.

Both would be nice as 12 hours on the iPhone 11 Pro Max is good enough for most people
Even better underscreen Touch ID would be nice

If I have to choose, I’ll take the better battery life. If I can have both, then great. And this high refresh rate is overrated on this small screens btw

It really isn’t, it’s even better on phones i would say.

next year is when LTPO is on the iPhone which will give the iPhone great battery life and will use it based on what you are doing. That will be the breakthrough tech with 120hz right now many android phones have it but simply can’t handle the battery life on it so they have to reduce the res of their displays to make it work...

this tech could go from 120hz down to 1hz like the Apple Watch screen.

which makes me think AOD will come to the 2021 iphone

If Apple DID chose not to include it in this year's models, it would be interesting to see if it could be enabled through jailbreak 🤔

I don’t need a ‘bigger battery’. For what? It’s all about how you manage your battery in terms of settings and you’re charging frequencies. For me, it’s all about the performance with the phone, Apples battery tendencies have always been well-managed over the course of the iPhone, but we all have different usage for our phones, which is why there really is no clear answer for do we need a ‘bigger battery‘, which doesn’t really apply to everyone.

Over all the iPhones I’ve owned over the years, [which have been many], I’ve never had a complaint about Apple‘s battery life that needs to be bigger, as we need to consider the efficiency of the battery to be managed through the A-Series processors.

As I said if I can have both I wouldn’t mind 😁
I don’t plan to buy the 12 since I’m using an 11 now and I’m perfectly happy with the performance and battery life. So Apple still have an year and a half to perfect the tech in my books 😁

Never seen or used a 120mhz display, so meh. Rather have more battery. My 8+ scereen seems fine to my old eyes.

If they can keep the same battery life as the current 11 Pro with Pro Motion then I am good with that.
