I thought one of the big thing about Pro Motion is that it can dynamically adjust its refresh rate depending on content.Your post just made me remember... From a YT show I watched over the weekend, Prosser stated that ProMotion was either an ON or OFF feature with the way it is engineered to work. There won't be a way to toggle it on or off in software. Apple is looking at maybe reducing to 90Hz refresh if 120 is too taxing on the battery life, but again, if no success, then ProMotion will be out as a feature even though the hardware would be there.
Thought that was interesting to hear, but Apple still has some time to figure it all out since October is the release month at this point.
It really isn’t, it’s even better on phones i would say.If I have to choose, I’ll take the better battery life. If I can have both, then great. And this high refresh rate is overrated on this small screens btw

As I said if I can have both I wouldn’t mind 😁It really isn’t, it’s even better on phones i would say.
next year is when LTPO is on the iPhone which will give the iPhone great battery life and will use it based on what you are doing. That will be the breakthrough tech with 120hz right now many android phones have it but simply can’t handle the battery life on it so they have to reduce the res of their displays to make it work...
this tech could go from 120hz down to 1hz like the Apple Watch screen.
which makes me think AOD will come to the 2021 iphone
